[if anyone has attempted to contact Nami to wish him a Merry Christmas, they'll have been informed that the number is currently not in service. this might have something to do with the fact that, inside Nami's trashed apartment, his phone is sitting in a puddle of paintwater, sparking. Nami's nowhere to be found!


there's a frantic Kai calling for Nami as he makes his way through the park. he can feel that Nami's still in the dressing room, but there's a wall between their connection so solid he can't sense anything other than that.]



(ooc: Nami got a heart for Christmas. unfortunately, he's had a lot of negativity 'bottled up' so to speak, and the sudden onslaught of proper emotion wasn't taken well. he's in hiding, having taken a portal straight from his apartment! responses will be from Kai, at least at first, despite the fact that the post is from Nami.)

[Right. Once the hug's over, she's going to get walking again. She's cold anyway. He'll have to initiate things if he wants to keep holding her hand, though.]

[he will. as soon as they're walking again he'll reach for hers, fingers brushing against her hand like he's asking for permission before he actually tries to hold it.]

[She glances at their hands, then nods and takes his, turning back to the path in front of them easily.]

[he gets a little smile on his face and looks forward once their hands are together.]

[She smiles back at him. They should be able to hear the stream by now.]

[oh good! his throat is starting to get pretty sore. ice cold water probably won't be the best for it, really, but at least it's liquid.]

[She'll tug him along with her once she's sure can tell which direction it's coming from, but it'll be easy to find.]

[fading]

[he'll let go to head over to it. how frozen over is it? it could be pretty frozen, all things considered.]

[dawnrise]

[Pretty frozen! But not completely. Lucky for him.]

[fading]

[oh good. he looks to Riku briefly, then makes his way to a safe edge and goes to dip his hands in. and then abruptly pull them back out, cheeks going a bit pink in embarrassment over his reaction. he knew it was going to be cold, but that is really cold.]

[She looks amused, but it's in a kind way? She's not making fun of him or anything.]

I warned you.

[fading]

I know.

[but still!! he braces himself, then quickly cups a bit of water in his hands to drink. he shudders right afterward, rubbing his hands on his pants to dry them off and warm them back up a bit.]

Maybe we should go somewhere with heat...

[dawnrise]

[She winces a little, then smiles sympathetically and nods, looking around.]

Which way?

[fading]

I'm not sure. Should we head closer to the populated areas? I feel... a little better.

[dawnrise]

... If you're up for it.

[She'll be fine either way. She didn't just stick her hands in freezing water.]

[fading]

I am.

[he wants some hot chocolate or something. :(]

[Hot chocolate works. She'll even offer him her hand this time, though she tugs the sleeve of her coat down a little first.]

Come on.

[fading]

[how kind. he takes it, ready to go wherever she may lead!]

[She's heading... toward the nearest tram tracks, because then they can just follow those home.]

[fading]

[good idea! he feels better with every step, though it doesn't show aside from the tiny smile. of course, after all this once it's time to head back to see Kai, he'll be feeling quite out of sorts again! but that's later.]

[It's okay, Riku's just happy to hear he's ready to head back right now. Everything else can come later.]

[fading]

[fact. though all this walking, compared with the cold and sore throat, is going to tire him out. probably before they manage to get to a station.]

[They can take breaks. Hell, they can hide away somewhere and he can take a nap if he needs to, but she'd really rather they get to Kai's place first, or something.]

A lot of things... wondering if my powers still work, trying to think of... what I need to replace for my apartment...

... I don't know. They might.

[She considers it.]

I can help with the apartment, though.
