[if anyone has attempted to contact Nami to wish him a Merry Christmas, they'll have been informed that the number is currently not in service. this might have something to do with the fact that, inside Nami's trashed apartment, his phone is sitting in a puddle of paintwater, sparking. Nami's nowhere to be found!


there's a frantic Kai calling for Nami as he makes his way through the park. he can feel that Nami's still in the dressing room, but there's a wall between their connection so solid he can't sense anything other than that.]



(ooc: Nami got a heart for Christmas. unfortunately, he's had a lot of negativity 'bottled up' so to speak, and the sudden onslaught of proper emotion wasn't taken well. he's in hiding, having taken a portal straight from his apartment! responses will be from Kai, at least at first, despite the fact that the post is from Nami.)

[well he's nodding in understanding.]

It's not too bad when it's such a small amount though.

Exactly. Went well with these.

[She pushes the remains of the fries to the middle of the table, because she's definitely done with them, and then takes one last sip of her cocoa. Any decisions yet, Nami?]

[fading]

[he's quiet for a bit, then sighs, looking down at his lap.]

We should head back.

[dawnrise]

You're right.

[But she was waiting for him to make that decision.]

[fading]

...the heart is so strange.

[he puts a hand over his chest, looking a little baffled.]

I know there's nothing to fear in going back... why do I feel scared?

[dawnrise]

Hearts don't always make sense.

[She pushes her cocoa aside, then shifts out of her seat and stands.]

[fading]

I knew that.

[he's known it for as long as he's existed, really. he stands shortly after she does, sighing a little.]

[dawnrise]

I know. So don't question it.

[He will anyway, she knows that. Everyone questions their heart, and very often.]

[fading]

[he just looks at her for that.]

Doesn't everyone?

[dawnrise]

Yeah. And they say things like that, too. Come on.

[She's offering him her hand again.]

[fading]

[he takes it with a small, appreciative smile.]

You'd think... with the way my powers work, I'd be a little more familiar with hearts.

[dawnrise]

It's hard to be an expert on hearts.

[Hell, look at DiZ. Look at Xehanort and all that he caused.]

[fading]

I know.

[but still, he'd think he'd at least be more familiar with which emotions go where and all that, and the fact that people get scared even when there's no reason for it, stuff like that.]

[dawnrise]

[Nope. Hearts are too unpredictable. He'll have to figure out that stuff as he goes. She'll start leading him out, back toward the housing area.]

[fading]

[he goes along easily, though once they start getting closer, he's going to start shrinking in on himself a bit in worry.]

[dawnrise]

[She's going to squeeze his hand, looking faintly amused, but sympathetic.]

Relax.

[fading]

Easier said than done.

[but he'll try.]

I know.

[That's good enough!]

...do you think Kai will be bothered by the fact that I haven't lowered the block yet, even though he knows what's going on now?

[dawnrise]

No. I think he'll understand that you need some privacy right now.

[fading]

[he nods a bit, having figured that. he can't seem to get over this nonsensical worry over Kai somehow disapproving of his actions.]

[dawnrise]

If you're still worried you can borrow my phone and explain it to him.

[He could even text it!]

[fading]

No, it's alright. I'll explain once we actually reach him. I'd rather do it face to face.

[dawnrise]

Alright.

[She's secretly glad for that. She thinks it will do them both some good.]

[it really will! and there'll be hugging. and possibly crying.]
