[dated to Sunday morning! because most of this stuff wouldn't be happening at night. it's an overcast morning, and chilly enough that there could be snow if those clouds get any heavier!

prince_number_7 is heading home with a small bag, having gone out to grab a few things quickly. the bag contains a few things from what looks like a hair salon.

shellsandlight is seated in the park, looking a bit underdressed considering the temperature. he doesn't seem very bothered by the cold (living at the bottom of an ocean means having to deal with it, after all), and is currently enjoying a variety of candies that are likely to make him end up sick, more from the rate at which he is consuming them than for their contents.

fadedsketch is having a bit of difficulty pushing a fair-sized "portable" generator down the street. he's heading for his naga friend's den, wanting to give him something to power the electric heaters he's going to be bringing by as well at a slightly later date. he's already brought no doubt dozens of blankets by now.

paopuspirit is stringing tinsel garlands around the old paopu tree near the beach. it's already had some lights strung around it, all the way up to the leaves. how he managed to get it up so neatly is a mystery however.

cheeryskies has just entered the library, a bag slung over her shoulder. she seems set for a day indoors, just reading!

beforeitburned has found his way to an outdoor ice rink that he's never noticed before. there are cubbies full of skates of every size near it, and he's given into a sudden, overwhelming urge to try skating.

[That first Kai is going to be intercepted by a Riku. Or at least almost passed by a Riku, until he notices the red hair and stops.]

[he stops, looking toward Riku curiously. hi there!]

[He pauses for a moment, unsure what to say.]

Your Riku--the girl one--insisted I meet you. So uh, hi.

Did she? Why's that?

[he seems amused, but not terribly put out by his approach or anything.]

Probably because I'm too antisocial. I'm not sure.

[He is awkward at introductions. Especially when the person in question is genderflipped from what he's used to.]

[Hey look, hey look. It's your moirail, Kai. Kai in the park, anyway. Not Kai heading home. Trollku here is looking kind of beat up, judging by the lovely bruised and busted lip.]

[You thought you could get away with it, didn't you? Didn't you, Red? Well you can't. Because Riku is here to witness these iceskating shenanigans. And by witness I mean stand way the hell over here and watch this train wreck until she's noticed. She's wondering if he's drunk.]

[He is not drunk, thank you very much. He has a bit of a compulsion spell to blame for his bruising knees and tailbone!]

[YOU NEVER KNOW. Also she will laugh, when she finds that out. She's slowly making her way up to the rink, though, hands in her pockets. She's still not saying anything.]

[Hello Kai. There's a Namine watching you curiously. She has obsolutely no idea what those things in the bag are.

She also seems to be clueless about proper winter weather. She's just wearing a normal Namine dress, apparently not too bothered by the cold. She's felt colder. This is nothing.]

[he stops and stares just a little because of the way she's dressed, more concerned than anything.]

[he smiles in a friendly manner, curious but not gawking at her or anything.]

[before Sora can enter the library, a hand reaches out of a nearby kitchen and grabs her, dragging her in]

[that makes her yelp and stumble, turning wide-eyed to the source of her dragging.]

That was mean.

[but she doesn't seem to mean it, really.]

[if he'd known Nami was coming to visit, he'd have come out to help. it's just as well, he's hard at work in his den anyway, halfway up a ladder that he made himself, out of bones from the things he eats. it looks a little precarious, but he doesn't seem to be bothered; it's scaled more to fit him than a human, and he's keeping himself in place with coils propped against and coiled around the rungs. he's fastening some of the blankets up to cover the ventilation gaps under the edge of the roof!]

[eventually he'll reach the door to Axel's den, panting from the effort that took. jeeeeez, he needs some muscle on him.]

[he slides carefully back down the ladder when he senses Nami outside, the bulk of his body making a pretty solid thunk when it hits the ground. he cracks the door open, face scrunching up at the cold, and then opens it wider when he sees that Nami has stuff with him.]

Isss that more thingsss to keep me warm?

Sort... of.

[let him catch his breath there, especially since it still needs to be moved inside.]

It's... a portable generator. So you can have an electric heater or three inside.

[and chances are, because it's the DR and all, the generator probably won't actually ever run out of whatever it is that keeps it... generating.]

I'll be bringing the heaters one at a time starting tomorrow.
