[dated to Sunday morning! because most of this stuff wouldn't be happening at night. it's an overcast morning, and chilly enough that there could be snow if those clouds get any heavier!

prince_number_7 is heading home with a small bag, having gone out to grab a few things quickly. the bag contains a few things from what looks like a hair salon.

shellsandlight is seated in the park, looking a bit underdressed considering the temperature. he doesn't seem very bothered by the cold (living at the bottom of an ocean means having to deal with it, after all), and is currently enjoying a variety of candies that are likely to make him end up sick, more from the rate at which he is consuming them than for their contents.

fadedsketch is having a bit of difficulty pushing a fair-sized "portable" generator down the street. he's heading for his naga friend's den, wanting to give him something to power the electric heaters he's going to be bringing by as well at a slightly later date. he's already brought no doubt dozens of blankets by now.

paopuspirit is stringing tinsel garlands around the old paopu tree near the beach. it's already had some lights strung around it, all the way up to the leaves. how he managed to get it up so neatly is a mystery however.

cheeryskies has just entered the library, a bag slung over her shoulder. she seems set for a day indoors, just reading!

beforeitburned has found his way to an outdoor ice rink that he's never noticed before. there are cubbies full of skates of every size near it, and he's given into a sudden, overwhelming urge to try skating.

[YOU NEVER KNOW. Also she will laugh, when she finds that out. She's slowly making her way up to the rink, though, hands in her pockets. She's still not saying anything.]

[Hmph. Maybe she should get hit by the same compulsion as he tries to make his way back to the edge.]

[You know what. Maybe she will. When she sees him making his way back she moves over to where the skates are stored, confusion still apparent.]

[She's looking down at his feet, but there's some amusement there at his attitude.]

What made you want to try iceskating?

[He really can't pinpoint it. Hopefully whatever it was doesn't hit her, too~.]

[Yeah, you sound real hopeful. She raises an eyebrow at that response, but she's leaning a little against the cubbies at that point, and straightens suddenly, looking through the sizes.]

I think I'll join you.

[He's not going to protest. If he has to suffer then so does she.]

[She locates a pair her size and drops down to change out her boots for them.]

[He'll chill on the ice while she does that, in that case. And try not to seem too amused.]

I have no idea why. I hate ice.

[But she doesn't waste time in getting the skates laced up and comfortable on her feet, and she trudges over onto the ice and promptly flails for balance.]

Pretty strange.

[Pfffft. Hope she doesn't mind him chuckling at her flailing.]

Yeah, yeah. Shut up.

[She will give him a look and start making her way closer to him. This way she can either flail within range of smacking him or fall on him if she loses balance. So there.]

[Hey no, fuck you. He's going to get back to his feet and try to stay away from her.]

[Nope. She may be terrible at skating on ice, but she is pretty balanced otherwise. She will pursue!]

[But what's she planning to do once she reaches him? It might hurt if they fall~.]

[It might. But she's not planning to make him fall! Sometimes she actually is not planning acts of violence. She just wants to see if she can catch him without either of them falling.]

[Hopefully she has enough balance for the both of them when she reaches him, in that case! Because if she grabs him, he's going to tumble. It's basically guaranteed.]

[She will be grabbing his arms and she should be able to hold them both upright. At least at first.]

[At least he won't struggle when she does that.]

[At least she's honest. She looks like she's trying not to smile, despite what she said. Liar.]

[And he actually means that. But he looks a bit amused by the fact that she's out here too.]

[She's referring to last year's events, of course. When he had what was basically an alignment change, as far as holidays go.]

Ugh, don't remind me.
