[dated to Sunday morning! because most of this stuff wouldn't be happening at night. it's an overcast morning, and chilly enough that there could be snow if those clouds get any heavier!

prince_number_7 is heading home with a small bag, having gone out to grab a few things quickly. the bag contains a few things from what looks like a hair salon.

shellsandlight is seated in the park, looking a bit underdressed considering the temperature. he doesn't seem very bothered by the cold (living at the bottom of an ocean means having to deal with it, after all), and is currently enjoying a variety of candies that are likely to make him end up sick, more from the rate at which he is consuming them than for their contents.

fadedsketch is having a bit of difficulty pushing a fair-sized "portable" generator down the street. he's heading for his naga friend's den, wanting to give him something to power the electric heaters he's going to be bringing by as well at a slightly later date. he's already brought no doubt dozens of blankets by now.

paopuspirit is stringing tinsel garlands around the old paopu tree near the beach. it's already had some lights strung around it, all the way up to the leaves. how he managed to get it up so neatly is a mystery however.

cheeryskies has just entered the library, a bag slung over her shoulder. she seems set for a day indoors, just reading!

beforeitburned has found his way to an outdoor ice rink that he's never noticed before. there are cubbies full of skates of every size near it, and he's given into a sudden, overwhelming urge to try skating.

You may have seen him around. He's got pretty long hair, has a habit of going out with as little clothing as possible...

[but not utterly naked, of course. or just in his underwear or anything.]

There aren't a whole lot of Axels around anymore.

Probably. He has red hair, right?

Of course. Axels tend to.

They do, yeah. I was just making sure.

[They come in brown-haired, too. At least according to his experience.]

Why's that?

[oh yes, he's quite knowledgeable about that brown-haired Axel. unfortunately.]

[lightyin]

There's an Axel around here that I'd prefer to avoid. But he's got brown hair.

[Riku isn't (unfortunately?)]

[seasides]

[Kai falters, looking surprised and then concerned.]

That... one. I know that one, too. He's- he's technically not an Axel. He didn't do anything to you, did he? Attack you?

[lightyin]

He looks enough like one. He didn't do anything to me, but he attacked the girl Riku.

[Things you already know, let him tell you them.]

[seasides]

I... I know. She called me.

[he swallows, remembering the scene he arrived at. Riku bleeding out. Red torn and bloody and burnt and dead.]

I healed her.

[lightyin]

I'm glad you could.

[Not that he thinks Kai couldn't, but he himself is only minimally helpful when it comes to healing stuffs.]

...I'm sorry for bringing up bad memories.

It's alright. He, uh. actually managed to kill someone, though, before he decided being free was no fun when he still had those cuffs on him.

What were the cuffs for?

[Apparently not for restraint, unless they were doing a horrible job.]

Restricting his powers. He was supposed to be stuck in the house, but he managed to mess up the seal keeping him in.

[lightyin]

In your house?

He's... well, he's normally sealed inside my boyfriend, so... that was the safest place to keep him.

[lightyin]

[That statement receives an eyebrow raise from Riku. Nice choice in boyfriends, Kai.]

Oh...that makes more sense.

[excuse you, he is a terrific boyfriend and it's not his fault he got Hachibi sealed in him.]

Yeah. And if he ever does get free again, he... shouldn't go running off to attack someone. We came to a sort of agreement.

[lightyin]

[Excuse you, he distrusts Axels to begin with, and he doesn't even know what Hachibi is in the first place. Clearly that means they need to properly meet or something.

By the way, are they near Kai's house at all?]

I guess I know who to look for if he goes against that agreement.

Yeah.

[oh yeah, they're probably getting pretty close. it's even visible by now, in fact!]

[lightyin]

[He doesn't reply to that, just nods and stuffs his hands in his pockets. He can see the house now, and feels slightly uncomfortable.]

Something wrong?

[he looks over at Riku, a bit concerned.]

I'm fine. I should let you go do what you need to.

[what's that? you wanted a 6'2" guy with no shirt, stripe tattoos on his back, and hair past his hips to come bounding out of the house with a DS in one hand and a big orange rabbit clutched in the other arm? well, here you go, then.]

Kai! Kai, I finally did it, I beat that last Twilight Town thing in mission mode!

[Axel has the worst best timing.]

[god. Axel you have silly timing is what. Kai can't help but look terribly amused.]

Congratulations.

[Good job, you've startled Riku. And slightly disturbed, because the last thing he would've expected was an Axel wielding a DS and a rabbit.]
