[ Riku would like to think that, one day, she'll get over this. She knows she's herself now, no one else, but there are times when the effects Ansem had on her really make themselves known. And she's really getting sick of this neverending cycle. Especially when even her skin changes colors.

She's kneeling just inside the entrance to Halloween Town, bent over so far that her hair brushes across the ground. Her forehead rests across one arm for support, fingers digging into the dirt, while the other hand clutches at her chest. Her altered appearance aside (and we don't mean her normal black costume), there might be something more worrying about this picture. There are Shadows rising from the floor around her. ]

[And there's Red in the hall, female again (or maybe still). He's somewhat concerned, because hey, this doesn't exactly happen every day.]

[And thank god for that. The DR probably couldn't handle more than a couple Rikus doing this. But hey, familiar voice. Riku turns to look at him, and so do the Shadows.]

What happened?

[His eyes are focused on her, but he's not ignoring the Shadows.]

Nothing big.

[She forces herself to sit up with a grunt and a deep breath, then summons her Keyblade.]

You're brown. That seems a little more than "nothing big".

[There are some things easy to cope with in Halloween Town. Looking different isn't so out of the ordinary: Xehanort's rubbing a line of stitches running down his arm, separating out into dark and pale skin, as he steps inside.

But what's happening to that girl? That doesn't fit. Neither does the rush of Shadows.]

... Do you need help?

No.

[That sounded almost pained, but she rises up a little, taking a deep breath. The Shadows pop out of the ground entirely at this, their antennae twitching as they turn to him.]

[Ohcrap. He pulls out his keyblade, looks at the scene.]

It's just an offer. I thought you might need it.

[Really, he's the last kind of face she wants to see right now, and it's obvious by the near-glare she gives him.]

Pretty sure there's nothing you can do.

[Even all patchworked up? He looks away as he replies, getting bad feelings about this situation...]

*watches you from the doorway, looking a bit concerned*

[She could sense him coming even before he was there, and doesn't look up. But the Shadows do.]

I thought we both agreed that you would do your best to not get a tan?

[She actually laughs at that, shoulders tensing as the Heartless twitch back.]

Looks like my best wasn't good enough.

[pauses on his way by, keeping a small distance between himself and the Shadows, but looking concerned for Riku.]

Hey. What uh... what's going on?

[Come on, Axel. You know you want to play with a couple Heartless. Riku shoots him a foul look, but forces herself to straighten up.]

Nothing new.

[hello to you too, sunshine. :| moves closer, so he can help her up if she needs it, or looks like she needs it.]

Nothing good, though. You're looking a bit tanned there, and you're spawning Heartless.

It's happened before. I can handle it by myself.

[That's not a very nice tone she's using, but she's not looking at him anymore.]

Mhm. I think you should get away from this room, at the very least. The lighting won't help your Heartless problem.

[yeah, going to stand right next to her now to get her on her feet if she doesn't bother to, whether it gets him punched or not.]

[guess who wanders right on in, not even noticing at first that the room has changed him to be a lot paler and less, well. alive. he does notice the dusty, formal suit covered in cobwebs though. he also notices the other person in the room, and is stopping to stare]

[She probably looks like she's in severe pain with her tense posture, but it's not as bad as it looks. She even raises her head when she catches his scent, startled.]

[his shoulder twitches a little, like something is tickling him under that jacket. as different as she looks, he doesn't recognize her yet]

[She sits up, but curls in on herself as she waves him off. The Heartless are eying him, too.]

I'm fine. Just go.

If you're.. sure...

[he might have listened, but that tickling sensation is stronger now, and it's working its way across his back, making him squirm with an odd expression on his face]
