[ Riku would like to think that, one day, she'll get over this. She knows she's herself now, no one else, but there are times when the effects Ansem had on her really make themselves known. And she's really getting sick of this neverending cycle. Especially when even her skin changes colors.

She's kneeling just inside the entrance to Halloween Town, bent over so far that her hair brushes across the ground. Her forehead rests across one arm for support, fingers digging into the dirt, while the other hand clutches at her chest. Her altered appearance aside (and we don't mean her normal black costume), there might be something more worrying about this picture. There are Shadows rising from the floor around her. ]

[She wasn't expecting him to do that and stumbles as a result, but she'll go along with him anyway.

...his hand isn't rotting off, is it?]

[don't worry, it's the other arm that's loose. once he gets through the door the change is immediate, his clothes turning back into his usual clothes and Roxas himself looking infinitely more alive]

What was that place?

Halloween Town.

[Her clothes change to her ordinary t-shirt and jeans as soon as she's in the hall, too. But before she does anything else, Riku's making sure Roxas doesn't have any more maggots on him, looking him over and running a hand down his back.]

[he'll hold still, obviously trusting her enough that he doesn't even look back. he has full control over his limbs again, can feel her hand running over what seems to be whole skin]

Are they gone?

[She doesn't answer until she's absolutely sure, hands having gone all across his back and shoulders.]

...yeah. They're gone.

[relaxes, turning around to immediately give her a hug]

Thanks, Riku. I don't know what I would have done if I found out what had happened on my own.

[She just freezes up at that, a bit stunned. She's definitely not used to getting hugs from Roxae, even if he's hugged her before. He'll uh... get a hand on his shoulder.]

Don't thank me. I didn't do anything.

[he also thinks she smells a lot nicer than he did a few minutes ago]

You helped me get those bugs off when I couldn't reach. I don't know any other girl that would have done that.

[She would; she smells like fruity shampoo and not death! She wrinkles her nose up.]

They're gross, but they won't hurt you.

[If you're alive.]

[okay, okay, he'll let her go. he's still in a lot better mood than he was before, though he is curious about what else he saw]

What were those things around you in there?

[That just makes her look confused.]

What things?

The.. black things. They looked like...

[he's actually not sure how to describe them, having never seen anything like them before]

...the Heartless?

[The idea that he wouldn't know what a Heartless is leaves Riku completely baffled.]

[hey, they don't have them on his world! he usually keeps to the more populated areas, too]

Are they only in that room too, like the clothes and.. things?

[But... but...]

No. Heartless are everywhere. You haven't seen any of them?

[he's actually been chased by one but it didn't look like those!]

I don't think so?

[Ugh, jeez. Riku runs a hand through her hair.]

Those things are... dangerous. They can destroy entire worlds, and where I came from, they did. If you see anything like that, I want you to run, alright?

Really? They didn't seem to be hurting you.

That's because... of how I look now. Right now, I'm not... me. I have too much darkness. I can't control it, and they're drawn to it.

[She frowns.]

They exist to steal hearts.

[he frowns at all that, wondering how a person could have too much darkness in them]

How do you go back to the way you were then?

[Oh, Roxas.]

... I don't know. I'm working on finding a way.

I know! Maybe if you do good things for people, you'll feel better! It always makes me feel good when I've made someone else happy.

[She looks utterly confused at that. Not the suggestion itself, because it makes sense - light emotions and all that. But the fact that he's suggesting it is a bit weird. Is he a Sora in disguise?]

Like what?

[no, but he grew up with one?]

Well... Do you know anyone who would need help? Sora and I would help the sisters when they couldn't see to thread needles, or help making dinner for everyone.

[Well, they're close enough, to her. She does associate them together, considering the whole Nobody issue. Excuse her as she wrinkles her nose at that.]

I don't know.
