[ Riku would like to think that, one day, she'll get over this. She knows she's herself now, no one else, but there are times when the effects Ansem had on her really make themselves known. And she's really getting sick of this neverending cycle. Especially when even her skin changes colors.

She's kneeling just inside the entrance to Halloween Town, bent over so far that her hair brushes across the ground. Her forehead rests across one arm for support, fingers digging into the dirt, while the other hand clutches at her chest. Her altered appearance aside (and we don't mean her normal black costume), there might be something more worrying about this picture. There are Shadows rising from the floor around her. ]

[Riku nods, but doesn't lower her gaze.]

I don't want to believe that.

[She shrugs, not because she doesn't know, but because she doesn't want to explain it.]

There are a lot of things I don't want to believe in that are true.

So just don't believe 'em. People believe different things all the time.

Believing something isn't a choice. Either you believe it or you don't.

[Shrugs! He's just reminded of denial.]

[Riku tries not to deny things that she knows are true anymore. She looks back at him again, quiet for a moment, then...]

You know you're wearing fishnets?

[Why must you be such an amusing distraction, Red? She's smirking again.]

[Because I'm awesome like that. And hey, smirking is better than brooding by far.]

[Too bad she's just grabbing on to the one distraction and trying to amp it up. Riku shakes her head, turning to head toward the door.]

[She could choose that out of place howl coming from further in town as a distraction!]

[Well she's stopped, at least, looking out at the town with slightly wider eyes.]

[Strange new things around here tend to be (or maybe that's just her luck, and if it's howling in Halloween Town? Yeah. She starts heading down the path, looking at him.]

[That depends on if he's wearing heels or not! Riku does a test, actually, and summons Way to Dawn just to make sure.]

[Well, they're not that heeled. It's enough to give him a little bit of trouble, but not enough that he couldn't run if needed.]

[Damn. I mean- No, Riku would have found Red stumbling around in heels to be incredibly entertaining, not gonna lie. But not during a fight. She dismisses her Keyblade and crosses her arms, adjusting her speed so she can walk beside him.]
