[he's seated in a large beanbag chair with Molly on his lap, petting him and looking faintly annoyed with the world at large. after a moment he pauses as if listening to something, then leans down and hugs the kitten.]

I know it's uncomfortable, Kai, but I don't know how to fix this.

[despite trying to stay out and avoid what she knows has to be another spell, Riku can only go so long before she needs to eat. ...or maybe it's he, in this case. either way, she's just passing through when she notices Kai and stops.]
