[he's seated in a large beanbag chair with Molly on his lap, petting him and looking faintly annoyed with the world at large. after a moment he pauses as if listening to something, then leans down and hugs the kitten.]

I know it's uncomfortable, Kai, but I don't know how to fix this.

The way I normally talk to Kai. It's like telepathy, but usually only reaches him. He wasn't around, though, so I had to try and speak with Sora directly.

[frowns thoughtfully.]

I managed to get a word through, but it surprised him enough that he fell and hit his head on the floor.

They seem to get into trouble quite often.

Next month. The twenty-fifth. ... How do you explain a birthday?

I'm not sure. Currently, a cat. Before that? A dog. After that, the lines kind of blur. I was a parakeet once, I think.
