[There's a new face among the Dressing Room. On the floor in the room that simulates Never Was, mind you, and unconscious. Which is probably a good thing considering fragments, blue in color, are still collecting, creating her form. Most of herself has been retained by then though. All that's left are her legs and they'll probably recollect before anyone draws near. Her hood is up, but the small frame makes it pretty obvious who it could be for anyone who would know her.]

But she knows that voice. The name of the owner. It takes a second. She's still out of it. And she has no idea what he even said. It's impressive enough that she even registered it in her state. But slowly. Softly.]
...Roxas?
no subject
Cautiously, he inches closer, his hand stopping before he could seize the hood and draw it back -instead posing a simple question, his uncertainty clear in his voice.]
Who are you?
8D; I'll leave it up to you with what he sees for the lawlz
That question.
'Who are you... again?'
The memories suddenly seem to snap together in one go and it's emphasized in her sudden hitched breath. But this-- This was-- He was--
She quickly tries to find her way to her feet. Tries. But she's not used to having her own again. And it's obvious. As soon as she grounds one and tries to push herself up to stand, her balance goes crooked and she falls back to the ground. And with that, her hood falls back before she can stop it in her mess of sudden panic.]

The weird feeling that he'd heard their voice before wasn't doing a great job of reminding him to keep his guard up either.
As he walked over to get a better look at their face, he hesitated a moment when he first caught a glimpse. It was Sora, wearing an Organization robe, but that didn't make any sense. Questioning his grip on reality, he blinked once, feeling even more unsettled when it looked like Kairi. One last time, he blinked again and shook his head, starting to genuinely worry that he was losing his grip on reality.
And then the image stabilized; it was still a girl and while she bore a certain resemblance to Kairi, the hair was different and there were some differences in the face. Curious, he blinked again, finding that her appearance didn't shift again. That whole bit of the incident left him unsettled and he was honestly feeling like he'd very much like to push the memory aside.
Against his better judgment, he approached again, this time from the front where she could easily see him. With a resigned smile, he offered his hand to her.]
Can you stand?
no subject
No.
She couldn't face him like that. Not again. She looks at the hand he holds out. Almost like-- and then she does take it. But only for a quick second to give her the leverage she needs to throw herself onto her feet and into a trot away from him. Stumbling, almost trying over herself. Following a disoriented zig-zag pattern.
She had to get away.]
no subject
Despite her expression, he thought that he might have been able to learn something once she'd grabbed his hand, but it seemed that no sooner did he feel her hand around his, she was off in a flash. And clearly not doing too well where her balance was concerned.
Roxas felt a surge of determination, wherever he was now and whoever this girl is, he just had a feeling he couldn't suppress that he was afraid to let her leave his sight. He started to give chase, after a couple steps finding that his sense of balance was only slightly better than hers and he wouldn't nearly be effective at giving chase.
Derp is as derp does, he tries anyway. In finding a half-decent center of balance, it quickly dawns on him that the trade-off for keeping his footing in his disoriented state is that he's not as quick or agile as he normally was. As loathe as he was, he figured he'd have to play dirty and hope that she didn't hurt herself.
He gave enough of a chase to get close to her, hoping that his next move wouldn't be over-doing things. His hand outstretched, he found that feeling was responding flawlessly to him.]
AERO!
[He called out, whatever processes that actually materialized the spell responded to his order and immediately a knee-high whirlwind leaped from his hand and touched to the ground, immediately racing after the girl at breakneck speeds.]
no subject
And then she was slumping down against it. Her head aching even more from the impact she had just suffered. Her vision blurring again. She fought it as best as she could-- couldn't stay here. Couldn't make him suffer all over again. But her head felt too heavy. Too much in too little time. She fell away into unconsciousness again, crumbled under the weight of everything.]
no subject
His eyes went wide as he saw her go flying and somewhere in the back of his head, there was a part of him that regretted never having learned anything about whatever scientific laws Vexen probably knew that would've helped these things. Not like that ice-cold jerk would've done anything more than belittle him for somehow not knowing it by some magical means on his own. Still, he really wished he would've been able to predict just how this sort of thing would play out before actually following through.
He flinched when that sharp bang seemed to echo through the room, rushing over and hoping to at least catch her before she might've stumbled and fallen to the floor. Somewhere to his relief, she just slumped down the wall. Not like that was much better.
Instinct kicked in though as he hastily slipped his arms around her, drawing the mystery girl down so she was laying on the floor, propped up in his lap. Some part of him just couldn't help but to find all of this so strangely familiar.]
Hey! Come on, wake up! I'm really sorry! I didn't mean for that to throw you at the wall!
no subject
Until, finally, big blue eyes sparked open. It might have been strange for him. They did appear very similar to a certain boy's. But otherwise, her appearance shadowed two other girls he had crossed paths with. For a moment, she just stared at him. Afraid. Melancholic. But frozen in place.
Hadn't she just seen him off? Hadn't that been the end? ...It must have been as she finally registered the clothing that he wore. But then... How would she... Namine said... She was at a loss of what to say. What to think. What to do.]
no subject
And then there were those feelings, he'd gone from threatened to relaxed so easily after seeing her face. It was like some part of him was reacting without telling the rest of him... and frankly, it was quite annoying. Some answers would be really nice about now.
Still, seeing that look in her eyes -that fear. He decided not to push too hard. Being gentle with a person was something he had little experience with and would end up having to draw very heavily on the memories his Somebody had opted to share with him. Already, he had a feeling this wasn't going to go well.]
You gave me a little scare there -I wasn't sure if you'd be waking up.
[For a moment, he considered helping her up, but after a rather painful-looking hit like that, maybe staying down for a little would be best.]
Uh, anyway... I didn't mean to scare you when you woke up. Just all of this...
[He gestures briefly to their surroundings.]
It's pretty new to me.
[And that's about when some rough memory of manners surfaced to his consciousness.]
Oh! Sorry -I forgot to mention this earlier.
[He gives her a somewhat familiar, if not derpy smile.]
I'm Roxas. Do you have a name?
no subject
He was asking for her name.
So, what then? What did this mean? What was going on? How was she even still in existence? She had gone back to him. She was certain of it. Where were they anyway-- Never Was? Strange... Everything was just too strange and off-setting.
She strayed her eyes, trying to focus on anywhere but his face. Because she knew if she looked at him any longer, she might give in and want to tell him everything and anything to make him remember. Still, a tiny prick of melancholy. It was weaving its way through her. Despite feeling that the decision she made was the right choice, it didn't stop the feeling of disdain from leaving her. There was something like resolve in her voice. Yet hesitance as well.]
...It's Xion.
no subject
So rather than fight it, his pursuit of that thought had left them here as he tried to understand just why she was so spooked around him. The look in her eyes at some points had him swearing that she saw a ghost or something. And while he wasn't the most thrilled with the general feel he got from her tone, he at least appreciated having a name to call her by.]
Nice to meet you, Xion.
Look, I'm sorry about the rough introduction, but right now -this is just really strange for me.
It's weird, but I've got this feeling that just says we should stick together while we figure all of this out.
[He offers her a comforting smile as he shifts their position around so her arm was over his shoulder as he knelt, trying to help her in some fashion to her feet.]
Can you stand?
no subject
She nodded slowly in turn to his words, in particular to his apology. He had no need. It was odd to her, too. Odd... and sad. Had a feeling they should stick together? It was weird.... Like forgetting something important. Right, Roxas? But she dismissed that thought-- or rather was distracted from it with that smile. His smiles were the best thing about him. Probably something she would have missed the most if she could have even remembered the time she spent as just fragments in Sora's heart. It was always honest. Nothing underlying. Nothing hidden.
Xion's eyes softened despite herself and they almost seemed to smile back at him. A melancholic hint of one. But one all the same. She followed through with him as he took her arm. Not really expecting it. But not really complaining. But as she took a step up, she winced. Her side seemed to have hit the wall a little harder than she thought. It stung like crazy when she moved. She buckled over with one knee on the ground.]
...Give me a minute.
[A small pause.] ...I'm sorry, by the way. I didn't mean to. Surprise you like that. ...You just scared me. [The last bit was only half a lie.]
no subject
When she spoke up again, he snapped to from his scattered train of thought.]
It's alright.
[He offered a little bit of a laugh. There was so much about just the way she was even dressed that prompted countless questions for him, but his instincts were telling him that this wasn't the time to ask them.]
Honestly? I'm a little on edge being here too... it looks like a place I really didn't like and right now, I just need to know what it looks like outside before I can decide on anything.
[The robe bothered him the most; he was number XIII. Between his memories of when Axel reported the termination of the Castle Oblivion team and when he'd sat there, curled up in the back of Sora's consciousness, heart or whatever it was, he was positive that his somebody had erased all of the remaining ones and kept...
His expression drifted from that smile, a look of confusion and partial realization taking its place.]
A promise?
[Roxas muttered aloud to himself, trying to figure out what this promise was and who he'd made it to. Yes, the more he tried to figure things out, the more he felt he needed to get out of this place and see it from the outside. Something felt wrong, very wrong indeed.]
no subject
...Promise?
[She was staring him in the eyes before she even realized. A stare that was a little more intense than before considering the proximity difference. But at the moment, that wasn't hitting her. What was... was what he had suddenly said. She knew of only one promise that was the freshest in her head. And that had been...]
...What are you talking about?
no subject
It's kind of weird... I know this place but it shouldn't be here. I thought I saw it damaged to the point where the inside shouldn't be this nice.
While I was trying to remember more from there, I remembered that I made someone a promise to stop the people that were doing things here. I can't remember who though.
[Not that he knew why he was divulging so much to who was effectively a complete stranger, but he had to admit that getting it out in the open instead of letting it settle on his mental back burner made him feel at least a little better about all of it.
Roxas shakes his head as he clamored back to his feet, giving a glance around their surroundings once more.]
I've just got a weird feeling right now and there's so much that just isn't making any sense to me.
If you're up to it, we should get going and find a way out. We can talk along the way.
[Part of that was a complete and utter lie. There was no 'finding' a way out; his gut instincts had been screaming to him that this was the Castle That Never Was -he knew the way out by heart.]
no subject
[She barely whispered it. As if she knew something. But that was all that she allowed out in the open field of things. Xion had to wonder though. He had seen the Castle that Never Was damaged? How... Just how long had it been? She was sneaking glances at him every so often. As in the answers would be written all over his face. They weren't, of course, but well. What else could she do aside from ask outright? That was too obvious... and unfortunately, at the moment? Xion was at a loss of what to say that wouldn't give away who she was.
So, for now, she would focus on the task at hand.]
That... sounds like a good idea.
[She didn't catch the lie. Because the Roxas she knew? Never lied. Not that she knew of anyway. So, for the moment, she would follow through with his idea. Unconsciously though, it would seem that while her focus was attached to him, her footwork would betray her feigned obliviousness. She was already heading for the same way that that he himself knew. They had taken it together quite a few times, after all. And she wasn't exactly up to using a dark corridor at the moment.]
no subject
In any case, he'd been was so caught up in his train of thoughts that he missed Xion's barely audible repetition of the word. There was a great deal that was troubling to him about their situation and his personal growing worries were doing much to preoccupy his mind. Frankly the possibility of running into anyone other than Axel within these halls was one of those things he really wanted to avoid. The two of them were just managing to walk and while he'd been able to get off a good Aero spell, he doubted he was anywhere near his better form.
All the more reason he felt at least a little more relieved when she seemed to agree with his suggestion.]
Alright, if you feel wobbly or anything like that, just tell me and you can lean on me.
[He'd offered the suggestion with a reassuring smile before starting down the hallway, his hand -almost acting on forgotten habit, reaching back to take hers as they began their trek. As they went however, he shamefully was proving to be an inordinate derp and completely missed how she seemed to know where to go just as much as he did.]
no subject
...Alright.
[Not necessarily reluctant, but... It felt like the longer to stayed by his side, the more she wouldn't want to leave it. And she was still fighting over whether that was a bad thing or not. Was this even real? Sure, she still ached, but...
She almost froze when she felt him catch her hand. Not because it bothered her. But she certainly hadn't expected it. He had forgotten her but yet... She felt herself squeeze his hand in turn before she realized it. Her eyes darted to the ground as soon as she noticed what she had done, almost as if feeling ashamed. T-Trying to think of some way to distract from that sudden mistake.]
Such an eerie place...
no subject
As they progressed, their footsteps echoing through the deserted hallway, he opted to try and keep up the conversation -at least as some kind of distraction from that voice in the back of his head from getting too vocal.]
Yeah. They guys that used to run this place were doing something that could've ended really badly for everyone. Did you ever hear about them?
[As he finished that sentence, they came to a pair of double doors. The boy pausing hesitantly at their entry.]
no subject
What surfaced as a distraction for him though... made it ever more difficult for Xion herself. For a moment, she just stared at the door ahead of them as if inspecting them. While she tried to pick the right thing to say. She wouldn't lie. She couldn't. ...And part of her. The more they talked. Wanted to just tell the truth. In the end though...]
...I did. They... ['We.' And she couldn't hide her ashamed expression as she spoke her next words.] ...were collecting hearts, weren't they?
I'm starting to see why you format your posts like this...
There were a handful of ideas he was starting to entertain now. The first of them was that she'd been brought in after Riku got him, but then she somehow left before Sora threw down with the Organization. The second was that someone was trying to restart the group and she was a part of this newer Organization -but that seemed a little far-fetched to him. There was a chance she was some secret member kept hidden from everyone by one of the others... Xigbar or Xemnas would have been his top suspects for pulling something like that. And then the last and quite possibly most likely was that something happened and his memory had been altered somewhere along the lines -someone or something wanted her erased to him.
He had a hunch that at this rate, he'd probably get a chance to hear Xion's end of the story before much longer. Whenever he looked into her eyes, he'd be hard-pressed to deny that there was something she felt inside that was just tearing her apart.
In either case after a somewhat long pause, he spoke up again, his tone even and calm -though there were discernible traces of fear in it.]
Yeah. I don't know what they were going to do with the Kingdom Hearts they were trying to make -but I'm glad they failed.
[For a moment he hesitated; he was originally thinking that they'd just continue and talk more as they went, but the more he though about the possibilities, the more he decided that he needed to know what was going on.
Swallowing hard, he summoned up all the courage he could muster. His blue eyes had a determined glint to them as they met hers.]
Xion... I know something's bothering you and I've got this feeling that you know more about this than I've asked about.
[Abruptly, he broke eye contact as he leaned his back against the wall off to the side, slumping to the floor and taking a seat before patting the space next to him; an offer for her to do the same. Despite the tension in the air, he was smiling -granted, it looked like the smile of a dying man that'd just accepted his fate, but he was at least trying to put her at ease.]
I know I said we needed to leave, but before we go much further, could we talk about it?
[It was funny. Uttering those words hit a chord somewhere deep inside him, a forgotten part of him looking away from the him that was now seeking answers as if to say "If only you'd said that before".]
I just do it because it seems like the preferred style. XD;
It... wasn't accusing exactly. Far from it even. But it alone was enough to make her tense up. And the eye contact didn't help. That same determination. She had seen it before. Almost as if--
'I'll be there.'
She broke the contact just as he did while she reached to hold a curled hand over her chest. Her eyes were dim with an overflow of feelings-- at least what looked like feelings. Were they? She wasn't sure. If she was a replica, did that give her the ability to feel? Not that it mattered either way at that point.
Glancing back at him as he found a seat, she winced at his expression. Taking a step back... but then a step forward so that her back was facing him. The closer she got to him... she felt the quicker she would just snap and tell him everything. It was easier for her when she couldn't look at him. When he couldn't read into her eyes. Still, it was a foolish thing to hope that she could hide anything. Her coat gave it all away that there was something suspicious about her. And she doubted she could have ever hid the familiarity she carried every time their eyes met, every smile he had shared with her causing something within to leap with ache.
But above all... The greatest weight was the fact that she had played him the fool before. It hurt like hell the first time. She barely masked it their entire fight. To do that again, even poised now as a simple question instead of something that was existence... or non-existence. She tilted her head. Minutes passing like hours after his last question. Before she finally sought out a way to explain. Because he deserved something of the truth.]
...I was part of the Organization. At the time... I didn't know their motives. But when I did find out.... I betrayed them. When I did... [Sounding a little more than strained.] they pitted me against my best friend.
[She found herself clutching her other hand into a tight fist. Her voice growing bolder.]
They would have destroyed him if he didn't destroy me. So, in the end... [Softly.] I chose to disappear.
I'll let you decide what/where ends up on the otherside of the door
As he initially contended that his similarity was in the Organization sending Axel to either capture or terminate him while in the digital Twilight Town, that last part somehow brought a wave of long-forgotten feelings to wash over him; fear, regret, sorrow, anger, uncertainty and anxiety.
He'd been troubled that she hadn't accepted his invitation to sit, but when her next words were uttered, especially that last part at the end, he was glad that she had her back to him. The look on his face would have been identical to what would be seen if he'd suddenly been impaled and left hanging to die.
Why? Why?! WHY WOULD YOU CHOOSE THAT?!
Words wouldn't take form and his voice wouldn't make a sound -he simply could not respond. The thinking part of him wanted to remind him that this was all well within the range of things they'd done before, they'd sent his best friend to kill him. But there was something about the uncertain familiarity with this girl that just seemed to somehow make this all the worse. Maybe it was the tone in her voice, perhaps it was the look he'd seen in her eyes since they'd met or it could just be that feeling he was getting; just something about her story stirred something deep inside.
So for a solid minute, perhaps longer -he'd never really been able to gauge time in this place and all of this wasn't helping it at all. And then there was that faint ringing in the back of his head, a strange sound he'd begun to hear almost as soon as she'd finished her sentence and it was steadily getting louder.
Finally, he managed to get his body to do something and clamored to his feet, the expression on his face looking pained and a little on the pale side.]
That... that's terrible.
[He wasn't able to juggle his thoughts into anything more cohesive than that as he stumbled, his hand catching himself against the wall for support. From the clear look of things, he wasn't feeling well.]
Xion... let's keep going.
[He groped about for a moment, trying to find her hand again before he turned to face the door again. His hand finding the knob, he leaned against it, pushing it open and allowing them to pass into the next room.]
=D
It look a moment for his voice to finally register. And then the words. Terrible? That word alone couldn't begin to describe the thousand of words that she was coming up with in her head. As she looked back though, as she saw him stumble though. She saw all those words etched in the pain of his expression. Her mask fell a moment again as her eyes snapped wide open-- and then creased into concern as this time she was the one that sought his hand without question. Holding it firmly as she helped him from his stumbling wreck and allowing him to lean against her should he need to. Her eyes strayed as they made for the door though. Ashamed. Ashamed because of his pity.
The thoughts washed out a moment though when he opened the door, feeling tense. As if expecting something to jump out at them. But when nothing did, they were on their way once more. She was quiet for a long time. Just... sneaking glances at him every so often like before. But she couldn't find anymore words to give him. What she had to say before was heavy. It wasn't something that could just be brushed away. She was so caught up in thought that she didn't notice where they were until she felt him stop. And that's when she looked up.
Speaking of the...
Memory Skyscraper. It towered right over them. For a moment, she just stared. Were they really at Never Was? She still couldn't believe it. But the paths were all the same. The castle looked the same, too. And now this... Xion was so concentrated on looking at it though, she failed to see the puddles of black stirring and surrounding them.]
I see what you did there XD
Oh-hohoho~ Yes, I'm a jerk. |D;
It's called an epic reunion for a reason

Speaking of lazy, I sure took my sweet time on this one
That's okay. Apparently, so did I. |D
Heh and it's not like we're timed on this one.
Well, nothing's ever timed, really. Games are just insane.
Very true. Also, short tag is slightly short.
F-Ffff. Not all tags have to be gigantic to get their point across, so. |D;
Yeah. I just get my jollies tl;dr'ing you.
Ah-ha~ "Jollies". |D
Exactly. Also, remember to send the source on that icon next time we chat.

I just remembered 'cause of all that unfun canon review for Dissideo. 8D
Yeah, you really don't skimp the details when you do your research
I suppose. XD I wrote down notes, after all.
Yeah, you're certainly thorough.
Details will probably go fuzzy soon enough though. Memory like a sieve. L-LOL
Heh, mine's not too much better... ah well.
Maybe it's a defensive thing so your brain won't fucking implode. |D
Don't you mean explode? I'd figure it'd implode if you got too stupid or something.
Implode just sounds like a refreshing way of phrasing things. AKA I'm weird.
No weirder than me. But I suppose that's kinda insulting.
HAT. That's all I gotta say.
ASIDE from the hat.
Dude, you know you're not going to live that down. |D
Yeah, true. That's why I tried to be cool in it and throw up the horns.
I think the keyword there is "tried". ;D
It sorta worked. It looked better than the other pictures.
Dude, I'm sorry but you were doomed the moment you put it on. |D
This is true. If nothing, it's funny.
It was. Don't get me wrong. F-Ffff.
And yet, I shall never live it down.
Yeah, more or less. O-Oh gods. It took me a while to decide on how to handle this.
So far, it's making for an appropriately dramatic story.
1/2 That just got totally overboard in dramatics right now.
2/2
So we'll balance it out with some durp later
Sounds good to me~!
Re: Sounds good to me~!
Suddenly, my tags are going super short. FFF I blame new muse syndrome.
Don't worry about it. And now I randomly tag before work.

Yeah, but it'd save me a lot of trouble. ;D
Cause I'm such a nice guy, I'll just be straight-up nice next time things call for it.
Someone's certainly full of crap today. ;D
Tell you what. I'll be nice the day you decide to do the same.
Tch. I was nice or don't you remember?
I remember. I'm just saying that I'll be nice again when you are.
1/2 Sure, sure~

Ah, how I love the edit button
Of course. It's the edit button. So glorious~
Yeah. I'm so used to having it only on the sponsored account.
Ah... Yeah. I'm still getting used to the edit button myself since I only have it on this account.
What's sucky for me is that I'm probably gonna end up buying a year sub for this guy now.
Oh? How come?
Just cause I'll be too weirded out once I lose that edit button.
I guess that's true.
Plus I mean, the extra icons are pretty nice.
Hells yeah, they are. @@;; Xion's a muse that it's really nice to have them.
I'd bet.
8D;;; Vergeofgoddingvergeofgoddingwhat.
Heh, it's hard to resist adding some headcanon in to level the playing field.
8} And it's just the beginning, Roxas. Oh-ho~
You should've seen him cringe when he read that
Oh-hoho~ Snap. Man, he just keeps trying. Although he can't be blamed.
Yeah. He's still gonna fight this to the end. You know how Roxae(?) are about joker fights.
True that, I suppose.
It's just not in his nature to throw in the towel when he has reason to keep pushing
He can be pretty damned stubborn, I'll give you that.
But it's one of the reasons that make him a great muse to have.
In some ways, yes.
One of the reasons I'm fond of him anyway.
MAKES IT HARD TO GET PAST A PLOT THOUGH. DFOUDSFH F-FFFF.
Maybe you should structure your plots a little more openly. Just suggesting.
Perhaps. But usually when I can actually think of a plot for once, I feel compelled to follow it.
Talking tiemz
And confusion times apparently.
Time to see how this resolves itself.
Pretty much.
