... [ at a loss for what to do otherwise, he watches him go, breaking down all the excuses in his head. it's a big dressing room, so it'd be easy for roxas to just get sick, right? ]

[he doesn't look back to see if riku's following or if he's not, just starts down the hallway with his hands shoved in his pockets and his eyes glued to the carpet. he only makes it a couple dozen feet before he stops suddenly, backtracks, and goes different way.]

[ well, he never said where he wanted to lay down, which leaves riku blinking in confusion before turning to keep trailing after him. so hopeless. ]

[the original path he'd started on would have been a much shorter route to the room, but all that mattered was that he got there, and without getting sick again, too, which was also a plus.

and even if he wasn't entirely sure if riku had followed, he still waited and held the door open, back to the hallway. a couple seconds, and if there was nothing, he would let go.]

[ riku's there with a hand curled around the wood, holding the door the rest of the way open. ]

Tch ...

[ like there was ever any doubt. ]

[spares a glance over his shoulder and a small, weak smile, letting go of the door and stepping further into the room. he doesn't bother with lights, just walks and crawls straight up onto the mattress, twisting and landing on his back with a heavy, forced out sigh.]

[ after a moment, riku dumps another thin blanket on top of him. heaven forbid he catches a cold alongside everything else that's going on ... ]

Get some rest.

[he only hums thoughtfully, one hand twisting in the blanket, thumb rubbing slow circles in the fabric. he stares up at the ceiling for a while, shifting every once in a while until he gets tired of it and rolls over onto his side.]

Mm.

[ now he's got time to actually think about that story, crouching down and folding his arms over the edge of the mattress. yeah, he could leave, but since all he'd think about is roxas, it's probably better to stay. ]

[closes his eyes, swallowing hard.]

There's still room. You don't have to crouch like that.

M'lazy.

[ that's all it is. stretches his hand out, wondering how far his fingers have to stretch until they touch something. seeing in the half-darkness isn't so easy. ]

[breathes out, then in, eyes opening half-way when riku's fingertips nudge up against his arm.]

[ oh. wiggles them experimentally, unsure of what else to contribute for now. ]

[ maybe he could give roxas a taste of his own medicine, or maybe he should just let him rest, if that's even possible. ]

[watches his fingers move about.]

... You left your gun.

Someone else can pick it up.

Okay.

[ smiles, not that he can really see it. for a guy who claims to have trouble expressing himself, he's come leaps and bounds lately. ]

[pulls his arm back, closer to his body.]

You don't have to stick around, you know.

[not that he doesn't want him there, but he's not mister exciting at the moment. there's something in his voice, though, something that's saying the completely opposite. please don't leave. don't you dare leave.]

Yeah, I do.

[ he would've regardless, but it looks like roxas has just sealed the deal. good thing he didn't have a lot of plans today. ]

[sighs, turning onto his back, sprawled kind of haphazardly. he starts to feel nauseated again, hot and dizzy, but he swallows it down; ignores the feeling and peels off his his flannel shirt.

some part of him feels like talking, like spilling some more, but there's not really much left. not anything he wants to touch yet. so he keeps quiet.]

... not that it'll help, but this place'd probably just bring you back if anything happened, anyway.

[just starts... laughing.]

What, I've seen it.

[ha ha ha]

N-no, I-- I know, I-I've seen it-- t-too.

... ...

[ good thing roxas isn't feeling well, or he'd be getting the boot right now. ]
