[ riku's got a gun, though it hardly looks lethal, if the neon colors have anything to say about that. ]

Hmm.

[ loads a dart in it, and takes aim across the room. ]

[bumps his nose against his and then straightens up, offering him a hand.]

[ can't look him in the eye; he's caused enough trouble for one day, getting up and looking all sorts of awkward. ]

[touches his arm briefly.]

You okay?

[ shrugs. how exactly do you answer that ... ]

I'll survive.

[nods, chewing at the inside of his cheek.]

... M'kay. I'll- I'll be back soon.

[ just keeps staring at the floor. it's kind of implied that roxas needs to go take care of something alone, so for once he takes the hint and doesn't go to shadow him.

it's just that he feels self-conscious. really. ]

[he's almost reluctant to go, but he turns and wanders down the hall for the nearest bathroom.]

[ standing around is pointless, so he shoves his hands into his pockets, shuffling back into the room. ]

[ picking his game back up is about as much of a waste, instead making himself as small on the bed as he can manage. being so tall, it's somewhat funny in how he can't ... really pull it off. when you're too prideful to cry it off or flat out ignore the whole thing, acting out is all he can do. ]

[does away with brushing his teeth, making sure to floss and swish some mouthwash around while he's at it before he wanders back some ten minutes later, quiet as he opens the door and silent as he steps in. what he's met with isn't something he's used to and not something he knows how to react to, so he just lingers by the door, hands in his pockets and hoping riku's okay.]

[ in all that time he's managed to slightly loosen up, feigning sleep. honestly, all that hubbub truly has worn him out, though riku's in no condition to wind down already. ]

[ he's hugging a pillow like it's a lifeline, ever the closeted cuddler. ]

[stays where he is for a little longer before he finally decides that it's okay to move. the first thing he does is quietly clean his mess, putting the scissors and photos away and trashing the edges. second, he considers just sleeping for a day, decides that sounds like a good idea, and covers riku with that thin blanket before easing onto the mattress himself, curled up and close to the edge.]

[ which is way too far, especially on such a big bed, but then riku's been doing more of the same, hasn't he? ]

[ fumbles around with his free hand, knowing he's not going to make it very far. at least he tried. ]

[oblivious, roxas spends his time just staring at a blank spot on the far wall, contemplating sleep some more. it's an easy thing to think about, but not an easy thing to do when your mind is so awake.]

Roxas.

[ tries his best to speak evenly, clearly. ]

[his gaze shifts sideways.]

Yeah?

[ don't be an ass, don't be an ass - ]

Come here.

[blinks, turning over and sitting up. riku is close enough to touch, but he's not sure if he should, so he filters his concern into his voice.]

Something wrong...?

[ straight-faced. ]

Yeah, you're over there.

[it takes a moment for him to understand, moving to stretch out on his side next to riku, elbow bent and chin resting in a palm.]

Better?

[ he spent those ten minutes convincing himself to be more easygoing; roxas likes to hear nice things instead of (unintentionally) abrasive ones, doesn't he? anyone would. ]

I like to hold you.

[ riku just died a little inside, but it's for the greater good. ]

[just laughs, reaching out his other hand to thread it through his hair. seems to be doing a lot of that today.]

You don't have to force it, you know.

I'm just say-

[ oops, there he goes again ... ]

[sighs, hardly put off. for now.]

I know, I know. You're just saying.

I quit.

[ although he doesn't know ... what ... he's quitting. ]

[twists his fingers in the ends of his hair.]

Just as you were getting somewhere, too. Oh, well.
