This morning. Pretty early.

[She stares at him for a moment, then offers a small smile.]

What do you think of that?

It's... unexpected. I can still feel my connection to Kai, but I can't feel his Heart the way I could before.

I didn't think so.

[That makes her frown a lot.]

I think... we've been separated properly this time. I haven't tested if I can still go back into him yet.

... Which would you rather it be?

[A heart but no body, or a body with no heart?]

...I'd rather be with Kai until I can actually get a heart of my own.

[he misses it, as much as he can. which is more than your average Nobody, but still.]

[She nods. She wasn't sure what answer to expect, but that one doesn't come as a surprise.]

I'll start looking.

As long as you don't get hurt in the process. I'll be fine without in the meantime.

[She gives him that overconfident 'you expect me to get hurt?' look, eyebrows raised.]

That won't be long.

[he just smiles and nods, because he expected that answer.]

It will be nice to catch up with people, either way.

[She's smiling, not really expecting him to say no. She's not sure how to say it, really, but she has missed him.]

[after all, she's the one he knows the most here.]

[Well she considers him a very good friend, so she's happy to hear that.]

Shall we start now?

[because it's as good a time as any, right?]

I'm not really sure what to ask first.

[Hm. Well, she pauses for a moment to think about that, and then shrugs.]

Feel like taking a walk when you're done?

[It helps her think.]

A walk sounds nice.

[and he's almost done! he looks back at the canvas and smiles faintly, then moves to let her see better.]

How does it look so far?

[as mentioned before, it's DI around the holidays, with a very tiny Kai down near the bottom. it looks to be the area near his house there. it's the memory of Kai's first Christmas on DI, aka the first one he can actually remember.]

[She moves closer to get that better look, and goes quiet for a moment, then smiles. It's... kind of bittersweet.]

It looks great.

He's been thinking about Destiny Islands a lot lately. He does that around holidays a lot. Worrying about the people there... if they miss him or not. Even if the idea of no one missing him is ridiculous.

[She shakes her head, still quiet, and dismissive of that very thought.]

It is ridiculous. But I can't say I blame him for thinking about the islands.

[If Nami is at all aware of her recent emotional breakdown, he'll know why.]

[he's very much aware of it, which is why he just sighs quietly and nods.]

I know.

[She straightens up after a minute, and smiles at him.]

But it looks great.

Good. I haven't worked with pastel for a while.

[Kai wanted the memory refreshed, so to speak, so Nami took it upon himself to help with that.]
