[in a hallway just off the main area, Kai seems to have fallen. one hand is against the wall, nails almost digging into it. his other hand is pressed against his forehead, and he's curled over himself on his knees. his face isn't very visible, but he looks pained and like he's concentrating on something, eyes squeezed shut and teeth gritted.]

(ooc: Meditation didn't settle completely, he's trying to sort his memories. Go ahead and startle him, and prepare for massive amounts of confusion. 8D)

[yep, there it is. it makes him kind of sad though.]

The window is supposed to turn into a scene of a place you find comforting.

[even though the scene hasn't changed, Riku's eyes dart to the windows briefly before his expression closes off into something completely neutral.]

You must really like being in space.

[shakes his head with a slight smile.]

Space doesn't really matter. It's the ship. It's... home.

I would have expected it to show something from here then, since Axel's here. Or the Islands. I don't really know about this ship you're talking about.

Well, maybe it's just what I think is comforting right now.

[shrugs and sighs.]

[he'll go back to searching through the desk drawers.]

[Riku doesn't feel he has the right to help you sort through those, and you haven't given him any orders, so he'll go back to being unobtrusive while you hunt, quietly contemplating those black windows.]

[he doesn't know anything about orders currently. :/]

[It might feel like he has a sidekick today then; Riku's prepared to anticipate anything Kai might need, from a pencil to a cup of tea.]

[he'll be quite confused! and when he's back to normal, Riku will get so many thank yous for helping him.]

[as long as this 'new' version of Kai doesn't make Riku do anything he'd rather not, Riku's fine with this. speaking of tea, would Kai like some while he studies notes?]

[he wouldn't ever do anything like that!

...also tea would be nice, but he wouldn't think to ask.]

[the Kai Riku knows wouldn't, but this isn't necessarily the Kai he knows. Riku's setting a cup of tea on the desk by Kai anyway, having gotten it from the tea cart in the room.]

[blinks and looks up from what he was reading, then smiles brightly.]

[he's somewhat wary of looking at the notes, in case Kai couldn't tell from his expression. he's not sure what sort of things he'd find.]

It just... feels wrong, for me to be looking at anything you might have written about other people. Like reading someone's diary.

Well, so far I haven't found anything about other people... mostly notes about this place and a list of people to avoid.

[Kai keeps the notes about other people locked away somewhere else.]
