[in a hallway just off the main area, Kai seems to have fallen. one hand is against the wall, nails almost digging into it. his other hand is pressed against his forehead, and he's curled over himself on his knees. his face isn't very visible, but he looks pained and like he's concentrating on something, eyes squeezed shut and teeth gritted.]

(ooc: Meditation didn't settle completely, he's trying to sort his memories. Go ahead and startle him, and prepare for massive amounts of confusion. 8D)

There's a stack here that I haven't started on yet.

[gestures to the neat stack of papers sitting on the desk.]

[He'll just reach to take those then, settling back with the stack on the floor next to your chair. What would he find in these?]

[well, Riku will be happy to know that after a few pages of marking where rooms are, there's... a list of injuries, both small and large, that Kai's had in the DR. :/]

[Kai might notice him get suddenly quieter then, as Riku reads over that list.]

[he's pretty concentrated on a more in-depth list of people to avoid, including their fighting styles and personalities. and that list has everything from the damage he's taken during rapes to cutting himself in the kitchen.]

[he thinks the kitchen incident is very strange, but when he reaches the parts about the rapes he goes very still, feeling as though something large is squeezing the air out of his chest]

[it's probably best not to mention what's written there to this Kai, since he's... never experienced anything like that before.]

[if he could, Riku would destroy the papers he's holding. he can't very well do that with Kai right there though, can he? it hurts to think these things have happened to the person sitting right next to him, that Kai would ask him what he'd read about him. Kai had hinted that something like this had happened, but to see the details written out right in front of him...]

[and Kai also hadn't mentioned that it had happened more than once ~~as far as the mun remembers~~. there are notes on all the scars he used to have, as well as tentative footnotes on how to get rid of them that had since been crossed out.]

[There is a large part of Riku that is amazed that Kai could go through all of this and come out as strong as he has; it also makes Riku feel very ashamed that he couldn't do the same. He's a little distracted by the footnotes though, trying to make out what Kai would have thought to cross out if not those other details.]

[Kai would point out that he was able to escape where Riku wasn't, and that Riku came out of it better than he would have. as for the footnotes, it's mostly just questions on how one would go about healing damaged skin.]

[Riku wouldn't think so, as Kai hasn't seen how skittish Riku is around most of the other people here, especially ones he's not met before. As disarming as Kai's boyfriend is, if Kai hadn't told Riku about him and been there when they first met, Riku would have very likely panicked at being trapped with an Axel.

As for the footnotes, Riku is more than a little interested, given the scarring on his own back.]

[Riku should ask him about it once Kai's back to normal; chances are he'd be happy to explain what little he's found.]

[He will, and will hope that Kai won't remember exactly where he'd had that bit written down.]

[he'll probably be able to find what exactly Riku was reading, once he's back to normal.]

[what are the chances of Kai finding the notes if Riku stuffs them at the bottom of a drawer or in a book :|]

[that would just make it more obvious which ones he read. :|]

[Is Kai so organized that he'd know which ones are missing?]

[well that's kind of an important set of papers there.]

[kind of why Riku wouldn't outright destroy them ;;]

[Kai wouldn't be very happy if they were destroyed, yeah. he'd understand why, of course! but he's keeping that list for a reason ;;]

[There's also the whole respect for your master's property thing. He'd feel horrible if he destroyed them and then discovered how important they were. Which is why he's burying them in a pile of papers Kai's already gone through instead.]

[looks over with a smile at that.]

N-not really.

[He's hoping Kai isn't much of a human lie-detector.]

[he's not quite as good at it as he normally is, like this, but he figures if it was important Riku would tell him. since things can be interesting but not important and all that.]
