[ There's a perfectly ordinary hallway that branches off from one of the main, leading to a downward staircase. If one were to walk down, they would notice how the walls and stairs themselves are decaying, changing as the steps go down from the regular floors and ordinary wood to stone. It leads down, not too far, to a long series of underground tunnels. Mostly man-made, but with natural formations as well. The sound of water running can be heard to the left and loud, scraping footsteps to the right. Which direction would you take? ]

[Ohhh no. He'll just be sidling closer to Saix, because clearly the more human-looking one is the safer one.]

He looks scary.

You think so?

[She doesn't move. Certainly not to put him at ease.]

[All the better for him to hide behind her, pressing up close. He's figured out by now that this isn't the person he thought it was hit by a girly spell, but that doesn't mean he sees her as a threat. Quite the contrary.]

Uh huh.

[She looks down at him, and pointedly steps out of the way.]

Why do you fear it?

He's really big and.. I can't see his face.

[And he lurched at him earlier, something Riku still remembers. He's going to follow her, attempting to hide behind her legs.]

Why does his face matter?

[She leans down and... plucks him up by the back of his shirt with one hand.]

[She now has a handful of flailing child, a squealing handful. Sorry, was she expecting an actual answer to that question?]

[Fortunately not. Instead, she hefts him up and deposits him in one of the Berserker's enormous hands. Don't worry, it will be surprisingly gentle with its grip.]

[He's traded flailing for freezing in place, his eyes huge. He almost looks ready to wet himself.]

The best decision you could make would be to stay still.

[The Berserker doesn't move until she does, and it moves to follow.]

Where are we going?

[When it doesn't immediately try to eat or hurt him he relaxes a little, but only enough to cling to the hand carrying him.]

Out of here.

[She's not rescuing him, or doing this because she's particularly fond of children. She figures he'll follow her anyway and be more of a nuisance if she tries to leave him alone.]

Why? Do you hafta use the potty?

[He was exploring!! What if he wasn't ready to leave yet?]

No.

[Now she's wondering if he does. He'd better not.]

[He hasn't had to yet, but if they've got a long way to go that may very likely change.]

Are you scared?

[It shouldn't be that long of a way to get back to the stairs. Right?]

Should I be?

[Unless they encounter whatever was making the noise down the other path.]

How come you wanna leave?

[Hopefully they do not.]

Why would you want to stay down here?

[Because what could possibly be worse than two talkative little boys following Saix around, right?]

I wanna explore!

[She would just open a portal for them to get loose in the DR and then portal herself out of there.]

That's unfortunate.

Aww...

[And now he's squirming. He's still wary of the Nobody carrying him, but since nothing bad has happened so far, he isn't nearly as afraid of it as he was earlier. He's still weirded out by not knowing what its face looks like though.]

[He really doesn't want to see it...]

How old are you, Riku?

Four...?

[He doesn't sound so sure, but he's celebrated so many fourth birthdays now that that has to be it, right?]

I see.

[One would think!]

I hafta go potty.

[He looks a little bigger than that, though not by much.]
