[ There's a perfectly ordinary hallway that branches off from one of the main, leading to a downward staircase. If one were to walk down, they would notice how the walls and stairs themselves are decaying, changing as the steps go down from the regular floors and ordinary wood to stone. It leads down, not too far, to a long series of underground tunnels. Mostly man-made, but with natural formations as well. The sound of water running can be heard to the left and loud, scraping footsteps to the right. Which direction would you take? ]

[He's traded flailing for freezing in place, his eyes huge. He almost looks ready to wet himself.]

[The Berserker doesn't move until she does, and it moves to follow.]

[When it doesn't immediately try to eat or hurt him he relaxes a little, but only enough to cling to the hand carrying him.]

[She's not rescuing him, or doing this because she's particularly fond of children. She figures he'll follow her anyway and be more of a nuisance if she tries to leave him alone.]

[Now she's wondering if he does. He'd better not.]

[He hasn't had to yet, but if they've got a long way to go that may very likely change.]

[It shouldn't be that long of a way to get back to the stairs. Right?]

[Unless they encounter whatever was making the noise down the other path.]

How come you wanna leave?

Why would you want to stay down here?

[Because what could possibly be worse than two talkative little boys following Saix around, right?]

[She would just open a portal for them to get loose in the DR and then portal herself out of there.]

That's unfortunate.

Aww...

[And now he's squirming. He's still wary of the Nobody carrying him, but since nothing bad has happened so far, he isn't nearly as afraid of it as he was earlier. He's still weirded out by not knowing what its face looks like though.]

[He doesn't sound so sure, but he's celebrated so many fourth birthdays now that that has to be it, right?]

[He looks a little bigger than that, though not by much.]

[He's trying his hardest not to. She'd better get the Berserker to hurry, because he can only manage it a short time.]

[Hmmm. Okay, fine, opening a portal. She's not chancing anything. If his heart gets corrupted that's his problem.]

[He very nearly wets himself just going into the portal. It isn't something he's used to seeing, let alone experiencing. By the time they get out of there he'll be crying for Chichi! and Roxie! and generally looking like a wet snotball.]

[For heaven's sake. The Berserker drops him on the ground, vanishing once its current purpose is done.]

[That shocks him into silence for nearly half a minute, before he looks up at Saix with his eyes screwing up and mouth working silently in what is soon to be a fresh bout of tears over the lump forming at his knee.]
