(no subject)

[There is an absolutely massive web strung up between a couple of lamp posts that are relatively close to each other. The webbing is thick, great ropes of spider-silk easily the size of an adult's wrist in several places. The posts themselves are absolutely covered in it, the light almost completely blocked off and leaving the area in an eerie glow. In the middle of the web is a human-sized victim. Long and thick enough to give no clues as to who it is inside, anyone who may come across it will get the distinct feeling that whatever's inside there is at least still alive.

Hidden in the shadows nearby, a spider befitting the web waits.]

[What? Why is he surprised? She has yet to let him out of her sights, remember? He can take care of the door, she's shooing Serein off to the living room and leaning against the counter that starts the kitchen. Ow, her side.]

[This is true. He closes the door after him, then follows Riku to that counter with a frown.]

[She looks up, not sure what to say now. Her hand is still plastered to her side, hiding the fresh blood.]

[He's frowning deeply, eyes glued to that spot on her side.]

[She frowns right back at him and looks down, then moves her hand. It's not a lot of blood... Enough that her palm is coated red.]

[That just makes him frown more. Somehow.]

That doesn't look good.

[That takes talent. She rubs her fingers together with a sigh.]

Could be worse.

If it was, I'd be carrying you to bed.

[He's not even joking. He'd totally do it, even if she hated him for it.]

It's fine. I think all I need to do is bandage it up again.

[She's ripping a paper towel off the roll for her hand first.]

Want me to grab the stuff?

[So she can sit down or something?]

Mm, no. But you can help me.

[She gestures for him to follow with one hand, the other pressing the paper towel against her side. Time to go upstairs!]

[He follows, still sort of frowny. He could have easily gotten everything for her!]

[It would be cleaner in the bathroom. She doesn't want blood all over her kitchen. The stairs are a little painful to tackle, but she makes it up easily. Her place looks like it hasn't been cleaned in... oh, about two weeks. Once she's in the bathroom, she'll sit down on the counter and lift her shirt up.]

[He never got a good look at that thing, having been pretty distracted with the whole dying bit, but seeing it, even bandaged, makes him quite unhappy!]

[She frowns at him for a moment, then glances off and opts to take her shirt off completely, since it's ruined anyway.]

Stop it.

Sorry.

[No he's not. Sorry for being unhappy over her injury, that is. He's definitely sorry it happened, or that it reopened.]

Then stop doing it.

[The shirt's off, but she's holding it to her chest, staring at the wall in front of her.]

Stop looking at me like that when you're the one that died.

I'm not the one with anything lasting, though.

[...In any case, he'll move to help her get that re-bandaged.]

[She gives him a hard look for that. It's not a glare or anything, it's just... Dying is definitely a bigger deal. She'll sit up straight so he can do that. He should know where all the supplies are.]

[Of course. He'll make quick work of it, and once he's done he'll move to wash his hands.]

[And what does he think now that he's seen the actual wound? It's going to make for one hell of a scar, that's for sure. Riku lets out a sigh and relaxes a little.]

[He is pretty angry at Hachibi now, and wishes he'd been able to do more damage to him before he died.]

[She slides off the counter and turns immediately to hug him from behind, even if he's still washing his hands.]

[He pauses, then awkwardly dries his hands off so he can try and turn int her hug to return it.]

[She will let go and move back enough that he can do that, but she'll definitely be hugging him once he's ready.]
