(no subject)

[There is an absolutely massive web strung up between a couple of lamp posts that are relatively close to each other. The webbing is thick, great ropes of spider-silk easily the size of an adult's wrist in several places. The posts themselves are absolutely covered in it, the light almost completely blocked off and leaving the area in an eerie glow. In the middle of the web is a human-sized victim. Long and thick enough to give no clues as to who it is inside, anyone who may come across it will get the distinct feeling that whatever's inside there is at least still alive.

Hidden in the shadows nearby, a spider befitting the web waits.]

[She may just force herself to stay awake since she doesn't want to chance having a nightmare like she has every night since he's been gone. But she will lay down beside him and watch him, at least at first.]

[Oddly enough, he ends up going to sleep pretty quickly. Hopefully Riku wasn't expecting any conversation. Doesn't he look so peaceful?]

[She wasn't, really. She wasn't expecting anything, and she probably is going to force herself to stay awake and move downstairs eventually to read or something, but for now she slides just the smallest bit closer and settles comfortably. She really missed him.

And she might just watch for a while to make sure he's breathing, because that peaceful expression on her face reminds her of when he was dead.]

[She needn't worry; he's definitely breathing. Maybe even letting out a snore or two occasionally.]

[Riku will try not to find that amusing with her relief. Oh, and he'll wake up with a dog around his feet, maybe.]

[Ew dogs. Dog will get shoved at (lightly) by those feet when he wakes up and realizes she's there. But that won't be for several hours. Where'll Riku be at that time?]

[Riku will have vanished downstairs. Serein takes up a good chunk of bed, and when she gets shoved at she'll just move up to flop at Red's side. He will get doggy kisses.]

No, Serein, dammit-

[Shove. He doesn't want doggy kisses! He's going to wind up falling out at this rate or something.]

[But she looooves you, Red! She'll stop at the shove, though, licking her mouth and settling down to pant in his face.]

[Ugh, no. He's getting out of bed, sorry dog. No breath in his face today.]

[She doesn't get up, just watches him excitedly. Riku is still nowhere to be seen.]

[He drags a hand over his face, then through his hair as he moves to search the rest of the apartment for Riku.]

[Riku won't be hard to find, even in plain sight from the top of the stairs. She's sitting on a pair of cushions curled up against the large window, arms crossed.]

[He'll make his way over to her then, quiet. He doesn't want to interrupt her if she's deep in thought or something.]

[She glances up at the window, either sensing his presence or possibly seeing a reflection, and lifts one of her hands up to rub at her eyes like she's tired. Then she turns to face him.]

Morning.

Hey. Have you slept?

[He's a bit surprised he didn't wake up to her staring at him.]

[He nearly did. The question makes her pause. Riku's eyes look strained, and so does the half a smile she forces.]

Nnno.

[He does not look impressed.]

You look like you need it.

[Is it the dark shadows under her eyes or the red rims? She nods, surprisingly in agreement.]

Yeah.

Why haven't you slept?

[It's not accusing, just curious. Was she expecting to get nightmares?]

[She was. But she hesitates to say it, looking at him for a moment before sighing quietly.]

Haven't been sleeping well since it happened. Didn't think you'd want to wake up to my screaming.

[Which she's sure would have happened, especially if she slept next to him, just because of where he's from.]

[He'd have gotten a boner if she woke up screaming, just sort of automatically. Good call, Riku! He sighs though.]

You should nap before you pass out from exhaustion or something. I'll stay down here, if you want me to stick around.

[So awkward, Red. Oh well, it'll certainly happen again at some point.]

I'm not exhausted, just tired.

[She rubs at her eyes a little.]

Mm. You staying down here won't stop it. But I'm not going to ask you to stay.

[He's just going to keep on frowning forever, apparently.]

Do you want me to?

[She looks at him, then shakes her head and turns back to the window.]

No. I won't sleep if you do.

[That's a lie. Not the sleeping part, but of course she wants him here, after her just came back from death. But that's ridiculously selfish, in her opinion, for this situation.]

Besides, you need to get back into this place.
