[Axel's in the game room today. he got started playing Kingdom Hearts with Kai the other day, but as soon as he came in here just now he realized he probably shouldn't play on his own, without Kai to explain things to him. :|a so he started poking through movies and things to watch instead, and up on a shelf he found his current entertainment.

he's sprawled all over the couch, feasting out of a large container of what appear to be chinese takeout spare ribs, and he's watching... porn. guy-on-girl porn, which would explain why he's still fully clothed, and watching it with the kind of detached interest people watch doctor's office waiting-room TV with. feel free to come in and join him, or be horrified that he's watching porn where children could see (the door of the game room is still open), or be a child and come in so he can demonstrate his horrible parenting skills!]

[but will Kai and Axel be able to watch it all? Riku reluctantly slips from Axel's lap, only now noticing how heavy his collar feels around his neck. his back itches a bit as well, even if the scars there have been healed for quite some time.]

What if... he doesn't want to see me any more when he sees how pathetic I am?

[Kai'll be able to watch enough of it to get the point. and hopefully soon after this, they'll be able to get the collar off and put the tags on a chain for Riku, and maybe get to that back massage stuff. Axel stands as well, and takes Riku's hands.]

You're not pathetic, Riku. No one who cares about you at all thinks that, and especially not me or Kai. If anything he'll just smother you with more affection.

[having an Axel touching his back will be iffy, but it would be good to have another good experience with one. he won't be the first to suggest removing the collar, but he'll be more open to the idea for sure. he tries to crack a smile at Axel's words, but it doesn't quite meet his eyes.]

He's good at that.

[well, not Axel right away, but yes. and the collar will probably be Kai's FIRST suggestion. the fact that Riku's even trying to smile is a good sign, and more than enough right now.

he'll just keep one of Riku's hands and lead him towards the door.]

He is. Apricot'll probably fuss over you too.

[he'll allow himself to be led, his whole demeanor more submissive than usual after seeing that tape. when they get to the room the walls will light up red, but any scenes on them will be too faint to make out. Riku isn't really sure what to make of it.]

[once they're in the room, he's going to stop and give Riku another hug, and then a very platonic, big brotherly kiss on the forehead.]

I'll be back soon with Kai. Try not to stress out too much, okay?

[he manages another little smile, but it disappears as soon as Axel is gone. when they return, he'll be curled on his side on the couch, his back to the room but not asleep.]

[sets off at a dead run as soon as the door's closed behind him, heading for his and Kai's room, and hoping that Kai's there. BUSTS IN THE DOOR are you here boyfriend.]

[I am indeed here and quite startled by the busting in.]

Axel?

[hauls up short, panting slightly.]

You uh. Need to come with me and watch a pretty awful video that mysteriously appeared in the DVD player. And then we have to go back to your office and get our Riku, and he'll be staying with us for a while, until he feels better.

[wat.]

Oh....kay?

[he frowns, worried, and heads toward Axel and the door.]

[takes his hand and leads the way, and will just be chattering the whole way.]

He and I were watching a movie, that one with the kid who looks like you, but blond, and he almost fell asleep on me because I was petting his hair, which was GREAT, but then the next movie came on, even though I didn't think there was anything else in the player, and it was this video from his world, with him being abused and forced to do stuff by Xigbar and people, and then there was this part with the Axel there burning him and fusing the collar onto him and by then I finally managed to shut it off, but Riku was so upset, and--

[feel free to interrupt. :|b]

Axel, shut up for two seconds so I can think, alright?

[he's... greatly troubled by all this, and it shows. he needs to think.]

[shuts up, though he's twitchy and obviously has more he wants to say.]

...he wants you to know this stuff about him, but he didn't want to be around to see it again, that's all.

[he takes a deep breath and nods; he's not so sure he wants to see it either, but he knows he needs to see at least some of it.]

Alright...

[he's only interested in the rest of it at all out of a horribly morbid curiosity. :|a but mostly he doesn't really want to see it either.]

Come on, it won't take long.

[just. nods and takes Axel's free hand, holding onto it tightly.]

[leads him into the game room and closes the door this time, guiding him silently over to the couch and retrieving the remote again. he squints at the buttons, and then presses a couple so that the video in question starts from the beginning.]

[he's going to be silent throughout the video, and probably going to end up with his face pressed against Axel's shoulder before it ends.]

[that's okay, hearing it is more than enough. :|;;; keeps his arm around Kai, cheek pressed to his hair, though his eyes are fixed on the screen until it ends.]

[he can't even speak, just... completely horrified over what Riku's been forced to deal with. Axel's shoulder is no doubt quite wet by now.]

[sits there in the mostly-dark with him on the couch, turning to wrap both arms around him. the rest of the video was just as bad as the part he'd already seen; he speaks after a moment, not caring if Kai responds or not, just needing to hear something besides Riku's screams echoing around in his skull.]

I told him that I'm so impressed with him, and how well he's doing now, coming from that kind of situation. And that I wouldn't have come out of it as well as he has, lots of people wouldn't. He's a lot tougher than he thinks he is.

[after a moment of shaky breathing and not-quite-sobs against Axel's shoulder, he raises his head.]

I-I need to see him.

[kisses his cheek gently and moves to stand up, keeping one of Kai's hands in his own.]

I know. He's in your office waiting.

[he stands as well, taking a few steadying breaths before moving to get that video. no sense in leaving it behind for others to see.]

oho I knew that runaway bracket had had babbies while it was gone.

shhhhh I get confused with all the smallfonting going on.
