[Axel's in the game room today. he got started playing Kingdom Hearts with Kai the other day, but as soon as he came in here just now he realized he probably shouldn't play on his own, without Kai to explain things to him. :|a so he started poking through movies and things to watch instead, and up on a shelf he found his current entertainment.

he's sprawled all over the couch, feasting out of a large container of what appear to be chinese takeout spare ribs, and he's watching... porn. guy-on-girl porn, which would explain why he's still fully clothed, and watching it with the kind of detached interest people watch doctor's office waiting-room TV with. feel free to come in and join him, or be horrified that he's watching porn where children could see (the door of the game room is still open), or be a child and come in so he can demonstrate his horrible parenting skills!]

[takes his hand and leads the way, and will just be chattering the whole way.]

He and I were watching a movie, that one with the kid who looks like you, but blond, and he almost fell asleep on me because I was petting his hair, which was GREAT, but then the next movie came on, even though I didn't think there was anything else in the player, and it was this video from his world, with him being abused and forced to do stuff by Xigbar and people, and then there was this part with the Axel there burning him and fusing the collar onto him and by then I finally managed to shut it off, but Riku was so upset, and--

[feel free to interrupt. :|b]

Axel, shut up for two seconds so I can think, alright?

[he's... greatly troubled by all this, and it shows. he needs to think.]

[shuts up, though he's twitchy and obviously has more he wants to say.]

...he wants you to know this stuff about him, but he didn't want to be around to see it again, that's all.

[he takes a deep breath and nods; he's not so sure he wants to see it either, but he knows he needs to see at least some of it.]

Alright...

[he's only interested in the rest of it at all out of a horribly morbid curiosity. :|a but mostly he doesn't really want to see it either.]

Come on, it won't take long.

[just. nods and takes Axel's free hand, holding onto it tightly.]

[leads him into the game room and closes the door this time, guiding him silently over to the couch and retrieving the remote again. he squints at the buttons, and then presses a couple so that the video in question starts from the beginning.]

[he's going to be silent throughout the video, and probably going to end up with his face pressed against Axel's shoulder before it ends.]

[that's okay, hearing it is more than enough. :|;;; keeps his arm around Kai, cheek pressed to his hair, though his eyes are fixed on the screen until it ends.]

[he can't even speak, just... completely horrified over what Riku's been forced to deal with. Axel's shoulder is no doubt quite wet by now.]

[sits there in the mostly-dark with him on the couch, turning to wrap both arms around him. the rest of the video was just as bad as the part he'd already seen; he speaks after a moment, not caring if Kai responds or not, just needing to hear something besides Riku's screams echoing around in his skull.]

I told him that I'm so impressed with him, and how well he's doing now, coming from that kind of situation. And that I wouldn't have come out of it as well as he has, lots of people wouldn't. He's a lot tougher than he thinks he is.

[after a moment of shaky breathing and not-quite-sobs against Axel's shoulder, he raises his head.]

I-I need to see him.

[kisses his cheek gently and moves to stand up, keeping one of Kai's hands in his own.]

I know. He's in your office waiting.

[he stands as well, taking a few steadying breaths before moving to get that video. no sense in leaving it behind for others to see.]

[no indeed. Axel's voting for setting fire to it until there's nothing left.]

We should destroy that so no one else can see it.

...what if it just comes back?

[he's worried someone else might see it. maybe someone not so nice.]

Lock it up in your office, then.

[leads him to the door and opens it.]

[he hunches his shoulders in when he hears the door open, as if trying to make himself look smaller. not an easy feat at his age, and after a moment he looks over his shoulder to see who it is. he still hasn't cried, and he looks ready to be tossed out on his ear any second now.]

[oh, Riku. as soon as they're in the office, he's letting go of Axel's hand, pushing the video at him to put away somewhere, and all but pouncing on Riku as he pulls him into a hug.]

[goes to shove it in a convenient locking file drawer before climbing onto the couch with them to give hugs also.]

[his eyes got huge as Kai pounced, and he's frozen to the spot. even with what Axel said earlier, it's obvious he still doubted he'd get a reaction like this.]

... Does this mean you still want me?

[that hug is pretty tight, though he's trying not to hurt Riku or anything, and will just be pressing his face to the other's shoulder.]

We won't ever try to get rid of you, Riku. Especially not now.

[he lets out the breath he'd been holding at Kai's answer, the tension thrumming in him slowly draining out as lets himself relax into the group hug. his arm is tentative as it comes up to barely brush against Kai's hair, and he shoots Axel a questioning look.]

Are you... crying?

N...no.

[that's such a lie, and it's easy to tell he's lying, too. especially since Riku can probably feel his shoulder getting wet. today, Kai is the king of soaking shoulders.]

He is, it's okay. It's because he cares so much about you, we both do.

[nuzzles Kai's cheek, tightening his arms around both of them.]
