[Axel's in the game room today. he got started playing Kingdom Hearts with Kai the other day, but as soon as he came in here just now he realized he probably shouldn't play on his own, without Kai to explain things to him. :|a so he started poking through movies and things to watch instead, and up on a shelf he found his current entertainment.

he's sprawled all over the couch, feasting out of a large container of what appear to be chinese takeout spare ribs, and he's watching... porn. guy-on-girl porn, which would explain why he's still fully clothed, and watching it with the kind of detached interest people watch doctor's office waiting-room TV with. feel free to come in and join him, or be horrified that he's watching porn where children could see (the door of the game room is still open), or be a child and come in so he can demonstrate his horrible parenting skills!]

[he chews his lower lip, feeling guilty even if Axel says it's okay.]

I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you cry.

[he lifts his head, and yeah, his face looks a little wet and his eyes are a little red, but he shakes his head.]

Don't apologize, Riku. Please don't. You've just... you've been through so much, I never knew, a-and I just can't believe how amazing and strong you've turned out despite all that. I'm so proud of you. To know you.

[he isn't really sure how to take something like that, especially when Axel had said something similar earlier. he doesn't really think of himself as particularly strong, and knows he has a lot of issues to work through.]

But I couldn't even tell you anything myself.

Oh, Riku, I don't blame you at all for not telling me. I really don't. Just watching...

[he shakes his head again, and smiles shakily.]

Look at you now, Riku. You may not have been able to say anything about how you were treated, but you're in the middle of a hug and one of the people hugging you is an Axel. How can I not be proud of you?

[his face is slowly turning pink at the praise, a hundred 'buts' on the tip of his tongue before he swallows them. even if he doesn't know what to say, the room seems to be speaking for him. where the images on the walls were barely there before, now it looks as though they're black mirrors of the very room they're in, a clear echo of how Riku is feeling at that very moment.]

[rests his head on Riku's shoulder and laces his fingers with Kai's.]

That's what I told him. He was mostly asleep on me by the time the first movie ended, I was so proud of him just for that, not to mention everything else.

[he can't even think of anything else to say that wouldn't be him repeating himself, so Riku will just get more hugs!]

[augh so embarrassed.]

You have nice hair. Most Rikus do, but yours is better 'cause we're friends.

[also touching is a crucial part of all of my relationships. \o/]

Besides, it's not like you had to let him touch your hair at all in the first place.

[his blush is never going to go away at this rate.]

I-I know. I've been trying to get used to Axel, since I know he isn't the one from my world.

And I'd never hurt you, especially on purpose. You know that, right?

[there's a brief pause where Riku tenses a little, then tries to force himself to relax. he doesn't like even thinking about Axel hurting him, because then his mind jumps to all the ways that he could.]

If I did, I not only wouldn't mean it, but I'd be so genuinely remorseful and apologetic that you'd be embarrassed FOR me at all the groveling.

[reaches to brush a little hair out of Riku's eyes, and then reaches to touch Kai's hair just on general principle. c: ]

It can be pretty embarrassing when he does that.

[he's just teasing you, Axel~.]

[his first instinct is to lean away when he sees Axel reaching for him, but he closes his eyes instead, showing how much he trusts him.]

I'm not sure I'd know what to do if you did that.

[o u. he smiles faintly at Riku; he can sense the fear lurking under the surface, but he's glad there's trust also, even if Riku's having to force it.]

Maybe just go get Kai to tell me to get up off the floor.

That works. That or tickle him. I'll tell you his weak spots later.

[sorry Axel, he's still a little jumpy after seeing that video. more hair-pettings might be needed in the future. he looks like he isn't quite sure what to think about Axel and weak spots.]

Does that really work?

Not as well as tickling Kai does. He's got this one spot that makes him squeal like a girl.

[well hopefully Kai doesn't happen to tell Riku about any that could be both. he has a tentative smile on his face as he watches them. the hair-pettings will definitely come in handy when they have to calm Riku down at night in the coming weeks.]

[srs. Axel has a lot of experience petting hair after Kai has a nightmare, so Riku will be in good, caring hands.]

You do too. I'd do it right now, but that would involve letting go of both of you.
