[Kai is in a room he's been in before, dressed in a pair of long shorts and a t-shirt. he's seated by the edge of the pond, playing Disney Princess again- that is, he's surrounded by animals. there's a sparrow nesting on his head as well as some hanging out around him, and a number of ducks and even a couple swans in a semi-circle between him and the water. Apricot is dozing in his lap, most of the fish are milling about in the half of the pond closest to him, and there's a turtle that keeps tipping over as it tries to climb onto his foot. he rights it once again, then after a moment of thought he nudges Apricot aside slightly so there's enough room on his lap to put the small turtle. bunny sniffs at the turtle sleepily, then pushes at the shell lightly with a paw and goes back to dozing.]

There, you're up. Now stop knocking yourself over.

(ooc: ...I don't even know. I wanted to post, but couldn't think of an idea.)

[It's a nice place, after all. Riku thinks it suits him.]

[What with all the animals either avoiding or attacking her...]

[turtle you can get off my lap now. he's standing and holding a hand out to her~. they're going to get some bird feed.]

[As if she wouldn't take it. But she has a feeling this isn't going to end well...]

[who knows~? he'll lead her right to the bird feed dispenser and give her a bag of the stuff.]

Since they seem calmer than normal around me, I figure that'll help keep them from freaking out, or attacking.

[Stop reading her mind, you. She wants to angst over the added depression in her life. ~~She has the skin of a killer.~~]

Hopefully.

[no I will not stop that. ~~only once a month.~~]

C'mon.

[and taking her toward where the sparrows flocked to, radiating a bit more Light than normal to keep them calm.]

[She's following! If they take off she's going to become kicked puppy!Riku.]

[they seem a little nervous, wings fluffing out like they might fly off, but Kai's presence seems to be enough to keep them there.]

So just get a handful of birdseed and stand still.

[Well Riku probably isn't actually trying as much as she could to appear all nice and... not predatory. She looks relaxed, at least, and does as she's told.]

[tsk, Riku. he's making a few noises to try and coax them down; it looks like a couple might even be considering it!]

[She's just keeping as still as possible, watching them without moving her head.]

[and... a couple flutter down to Kai, hopping along him to get closer to Riku.]

[Okay, Riku might have tensed a little at that, trying to keep herself more still.]

[and after a few more seconds of uncertain hopping and chirping, Riku can has one sparrow!]

There, see?

[Riku is surprised! It's pretty clear on her face, too, as she stares at the brave little sparrow. She might have stopped breathing.]

[it looks like that little sparrow's bravery might be attracting others, since Kai is suddenly playing roost to about a dozen or so while they slowly make their way to Riku.]

[Well that fits him quite nicely. But Riku's honestly surprised they're getting this close to her. Pleasantly surprised, but still surprised.]

[soon enough, she's going to be the roost, while Kai puts more seed out for all the birds. sure, he had a lot to do with keeping them calm, but they didn't have to come over.]

Now what did I tell you?

[She has not budged an inch since before that first sparrow showed up, and she's not moving now.]

Yeah, yeah.

[the fact that someone has food is starting to attract the other birds in the park, so don't be too surprised when a couple ducks waddle over, too, Riku.]
