THE BALL

[Today is the day of the ball, and as such the entry to the Grand Ball Room is wide open, a sound of music echoing through the halls. Not too far away are signs pointing to the general area, intended to help those who are new as well as remind those who are interested.

The room itself seems incredibly clean, thanks to a few enchanted brooms, some of which are still there to clean up any messes from the food. Speaking of food, there is a large table with many delicious meals to choose from, from classy foods to simpler snacks such as chips and even a bit of treats for the children and others who enjoy sweets. And of course, beverages are present, such as punch, water, soft drinks, and even a bit of wine for the adults. Off to the side is an ice box, which may in fact contain sea salt ice cream.

Similar to the last ball, there is a comfortable area set off to the side for those who would rather relax, maybe take a break from dancing. It consists of comfortable chairs and couches for the guests, and even smaller tables for beverages.

Of course, the main attraction is the dance floor itself, which is dimly lit by a chandelier and the occasional candles here and there. The aforementioned music at the moment is classical, a sort of waltz and seems to be coming from no apparent source-- but one may notice somewhere in the ball room that Mickey himself is present, dressed not only in proper masquerade attire, but also with a familiar hat.

Anyone is welcome to enjoy the ball. However, if trouble should arise Mickey does have a Keyblade and would be more than willing to intervene; this is meant for enjoyment, not violence.]

[Well, someone's slinking in silently, dressed in a red suit and an odd mask. His eyes seem brighter than normal behind the mask, and his hair is pulled back into a ponytail at the base of his neck. That devilish smirk he has in place isn't anything to be worried about, really.]

[Of course she couldn't get by with a suit. Of course. When Riku enters the ballroom, she's fully intending to hide out around the food table, perhaps spend the entire evening in the sitting area. She's only here in case trouble stirs, after all. Gasp and shock, she's wearing a dress, with tall boots and black opera gloves. Her mask is more like a lace blindfold, wrapping around her head and tying in the back.]

[Someone seems to be watching the many guests carefully, a faint smirk on his face. Dressed in a simple tux and mask (http://ny-image0.etsy.com/il_430xN.73202360.jpg), Ansem doesn't seem quite into the dancing at the moment, but observation.]

*do not mind the paranoid and suspicious Replica standing in one corner where he can see everyone; he's dressed in a fairly simply suit with a half mask (http://pics.livejournal.com/windup_boytoy/pic/0001htp6), though his hair is still tied up in a ponytail with the familiar pink ribbon*

[Straight for the comfy couches! She's not jumping on them ~~yet~~, but Kairi's plopped herself as close to the dance floor as she can, more interested in watching people right now. Especially since she can't seem to get her mask (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/Kewie/Charas/masquerade-lilkairi01.jpg) to stay on straight. At least her dress (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/Kewie/Charas/masquerade-lilkairi03.jpg) is wonderfully sparkly.]

[Kidku... really isn't that fancily dressed, and his mask (http://www.magicfactory.com.au/shop/images/devil-mask.jpg) is questionable, but shh. He's seven.]

[Someone's waiting close to the entrance, dressed in a tux with a bowtie and holding this (http://shop2.aol.ca/ss/media/17994000/17994116.jpg) mask.]

[Someone's already found himself a glass of wine, Hanging around and waiting for people to file in. He's wearing a mask that may be familiar (http://aftermathnews.files.wordpress.com/2007/09/v-mask.jpg) depending on your 'verse, and a simple black tux and tie.]

[Pay no attention to Riku sitting silently on one of the couches. He's dressed in quite the classy attire (http://www.freewebs.com/sailormaz/daarien-79.jpg), holding his top hat in his hands and subconsciously fidgeting with it.]

[An Argeneau is entering the ballroom, dressed in this (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/Kewie/Charas/argeneaufire--02.jpg), minus the cane. With a matching mask (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/Kewie/Charas/argeneaufire--01.jpg) that covers his face. Below the mask, a genuine smirk his on his face. He remembers the Masquerade days, he himself attended a few back years ago. Surprisingly, he found his old stuff. But that's neither here or there, for he's heading towards the sitting area, debating on if he should be polite enough to take a bite of food or not later. But now.. he wanted a dance partner.]

[Sora thinks himself quite the dancer, with his little shirt and bowtie and mask (http://www.partymakerdiscountmegastore.com/331/products/0/010753.jpg), so he bounds out to the dance floor and starts boogying by himself. no one's taught him how to dance to classical music however, so it looks pretty funny.]

[this one is standing by the door, eating sea salt ice cream while waiting for someone to arrive. he has already managed to wrinkle his clothes (http://i42.tinypic.com/v4uogl.jpg) and keeps fumbling with the mask (http://i40.tinypic.com/jph4yu.jpg). he has allowed himself to leave his sword in his room, as he's not expecting any trouble.]

[Sora's going the plain route tonight, with a regular black tux and a simple white mask. it's not about who sees him anyway, in his opinion, it's who he's waiting to see.]

... Really. Really.

[ Pardon this kid here, he just arrived and is stumbling into the ball room... needless to say, he's confused and not even properly dressed. ]

[don't mind Demyx over on the dance floor, twirling a Dancer Nobody around. it's a simple waltz, but she seems to be doing better than him. maybe his mask (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/Kewie/Charas/105music.jpg) is obstructing his view.]

[ Alice finds this a grand opportunity, all mischief making in effort to help. It's the mask of a cat she wears on her face, a broad grin painted on its face, wire whiskers poking out here and there.

She's sneaking handfuls of treats onto the food tables, decorated cookies and cakes wrapped in delicate napkins. ]

[Mostly just here for the promise of food; since the number of adults around makes him nervous, Ienzo has taken to hiding under the table. Though occasionally darting out to grab something from on the table, it's probably more obvious where he is by the happily wagging tail poking out from under the table. He's wearing a mask he found just in case but he hasn't exactly dressed up for the occasion.]

[enters the ball room silently. looks like the dressing room finally let him back to his normal self again; he's dressed extravagantly, like royalty, with a golden mask and even a (non-tacky!) crown. he doesn't really mind the outfit, even if he didn't choose it. he'll just be making his way to the food and drink. thirsty Kai is thirsty~.]

[She doesn't really have a date, but she just couldn't resist.

Rikku's walking into the room, smiling brightly and wearing a surprisingly not revealing dress and a mask.

[Here comes yet another Riku, wearing a black suit (http://im.sify.com/movies/images/feb2008/5events.jpg) and deep red shirt, with a black mask (http://ep.yimg.com/ip/I/masksandmakebelieve_2057_597347) on. He doesn't really know many here, but it is a little easier to tell him from most of the other Rikus, because he's not bothering to hide his fangs when he smiles.]
