THE BALL

[Today is the day of the ball, and as such the entry to the Grand Ball Room is wide open, a sound of music echoing through the halls. Not too far away are signs pointing to the general area, intended to help those who are new as well as remind those who are interested.

The room itself seems incredibly clean, thanks to a few enchanted brooms, some of which are still there to clean up any messes from the food. Speaking of food, there is a large table with many delicious meals to choose from, from classy foods to simpler snacks such as chips and even a bit of treats for the children and others who enjoy sweets. And of course, beverages are present, such as punch, water, soft drinks, and even a bit of wine for the adults. Off to the side is an ice box, which may in fact contain sea salt ice cream.

Similar to the last ball, there is a comfortable area set off to the side for those who would rather relax, maybe take a break from dancing. It consists of comfortable chairs and couches for the guests, and even smaller tables for beverages.

Of course, the main attraction is the dance floor itself, which is dimly lit by a chandelier and the occasional candles here and there. The aforementioned music at the moment is classical, a sort of waltz and seems to be coming from no apparent source-- but one may notice somewhere in the ball room that Mickey himself is present, dressed not only in proper masquerade attire, but also with a familiar hat.

Anyone is welcome to enjoy the ball. However, if trouble should arise Mickey does have a Keyblade and would be more than willing to intervene; this is meant for enjoyment, not violence.]

... would that be okay? It sounds like fun.

*is used to her Father being very strict about boys, so she might need to be reminded that she isn't home*

[barely avoids that poke! he flashes her a smile.]

I'd love to. I'll just grab a change of clothes.

*her heart skips a beat, because she didn't mean tonight, but that works as well! she flashes a shy smile back and nods*

Well... how about I go ahead and change, and you come over when you're ready? My room's 77. It's on the hall with Kai and Riku and Ri and Sora.

[almost looks surprised at that, but he nods!]

That's fine. I'll see you soon, then?

See you in a minute!

*and turns down the hallway headed to her room; once there, she slips into a fitted t-shirt and a pair of sleep shorts*

[give him about 20 minutes before he arrives at her door, dressed in much of the same, with the exception of wearing pajama pants rather than shorts. he also brought popcorn!]

*she's just in her room tidying up all the clothes scattered around and making up her bed and drying her hair -- her room is a bit chilly!*

[Sora is very polite, and knocks lightly on the door -- he's a little nervous, and it probably shows in the way he grips the popcorn bowl. he's never had a sleepover with a girl before, much less a girlfriend.]

*well Kairi is very laid-back and chill, so she will try not to be awkward. she opens her door and peeks out, before letting him in with a smile*

Hi. Ooh, popcorn.

*her room is still a little plain, but has dark purple walls, and is moderately lit -- she's decorated with a couple of stuffed bears and stuffed chocobos, and there seems to be clothes everywhere -- a dressing room is a fashionista's dream come true*

[it's occurred to Sora by now that he remembers this room very clearly! but he smiles at her warmly, and moves to carefully set the popcorn on the dresser so it doesn't spill.]

It's cozy in here.

*laughs a bit*

Well, only if you mean messy. I still have some re-decorating to do. Make yourself at home, 'kay?

*blushes a little...*

I uh... was looking for movies to watch, but all I have are cartoons and kung-fu flicks.

*... Kairi's a kung-fu film afficinado*

I could go for a kung-fu marathon!

*brightens, glad you don't think she's a total dork*

Sounds good!

*and she goes to peruse her small collection, popping one in her player and crawling onto the bed to get cozy*

[takes the popcorn bowl and sits very tentatively on the edge of her bed, mentally cursing himself and wondering where the shyness is coming from.]

*she just looks amused and pats the spot next to her*

Do I stink?

Of course not!

[encouragement helps out a lot, Sora has the guts to scoot over and settle down next to her, bowl of popcorn resting on his thigh for easy access.]

*she sees that look on your face and feels kind of bad... she scoots over too and threads her fingers through his hair, just petting*

Sorry... I just... I don't mind you being close.

[shakes his head a little.]

No, no, it's not you! I'm just -- this is kind of new for me, that's all.

[leans over to give her a little nuzzle, to show that it's just fine.]

*turns pink*

It is? It's... kind of new for me too.

[that makes him feel worlds more comfortable, and he wraps an arm around her gently.]

Then .. We're not alone, right?

*she flashes a sweet smile at him and snuggles into the crook of his arm as the opening credits finish*

And if I fall asleep, you better not make fun of me!

Alright, but you can't take pictures of my bedhead, either.

*p-puppy eyes*

But~ if I do, I can keep it with me and think of you being adorable.

[h-hey, puppy eyes are cheating! Sora has absolutely no defense against them.]

Well, maybe just one ...

*prepare to lose a lot of battles, Sora. a LOT of battles. but she will try and not abuse her powers*

I just blew up my microwave ;~;

aw D: but you haven't lived a full life if you haven't blown up a microwave!

Next time I will use the silicon molds >___> And not try to skip steps.
