They are mostly crystals that grow all over in my world. Certain types are used as currency, but those are for light and various crafts.

There are a few other things as well, and I can show you those in a little while if you like.

[comes back and sits by Riku, handing him a bottle with a little rounded star-shaped thing inside. the moment it touches his palm it shimmers from gold to a reddish pink]

That is a glowstone. They can form naturally but they tend to be made by infusing crystals with certain compounds. It...responds to heat and possibly other factors, so touching the glass makes it change that way.
