[ There's a perfectly ordinary hallway that branches off from one of the main, leading to a downward staircase. If one were to walk down, they would notice how the walls and stairs themselves are decaying, changing as the steps go down from the regular floors and ordinary wood to stone. It leads down, not too far, to a long series of underground tunnels. Mostly man-made, but with natural formations as well. The sound of water running can be heard to the left and loud, scraping footsteps to the right. Which direction would you take? ]

[She shakes her head.]

Not a heartless. It didn't feel like anything familiar.

Strange. Do you want to keep looking for it?

[After all, Rikus are kind of I'll-do-it-myself people.]

[She'll just... gesture for her to follow.]

[And so she does!]

So what did it look like? Did you get a clear view?

No. Human-shaped? But it didn't have any features that I could make out.

[She'll go quiet now, lost in thought over what it could be.]

[Who knows? Riku's quiet as well, hands hanging at her sides as they go. She's a little tense, but only because she doesn't know what it was. Or even what it could have been.]

[It's hard to be tense when Kairi has yet to see the thing herself. Still, she's trying to be cautious.]

[Eventually Kairi might hear footsteps behind her.

There's nothing there, of course.]

[That'll make for a frustration realization when she whips around, expecting some kind of monster.]

[Riku looks at her, curious. Whatever it was, she didn't hear it.]

[frostedwaters]

[She's writing it off as her imagination, maybe. After all, it's not like there can be anything that bad down here, right?]

[Who knows?]

What is it?

I thought I... hm. Never mind.

...what? Did you see something?

[C'mon, she's curious!!]

[frostedwaters]

I thought I heard footsteps behind me.

[She shakes her head.]

I must have imagined it.

[dawnrise]

...if you're sure.

[Either way, Riku isn't.]

Yeah. Let's keep going.

I was distracted for a good minute by that icon. Kairi y so adorable

[She doesn't look like she believes her, but she turns anyway and starts walking. There will totally be more footsteps.]

I just saw the fanart tonight and had to icon it :>

[And when there are, Kairi will start wondering if she's going crazy or if there really is someone following them. ...or something.]

[It's okay, Kairi. The next corner Riku turns will have her stopping dead in her tracks to stare into the darkness.]

[She nearly bumps into Riku at the sudden stopping, but avoids it in favor of peering around her.]
