[If you're near this particular kitchen and/or have a decent sense of smell, you might notice that someone's been pretty busy this afternoon.

There's a Riku in said kitchen, still dressed in his pajamas despite being out of his house and it being early afternoon, hanging out by the stove. If the smell doesn't say anything about what he's been doing, then the plate by the stove sure does.

He's been cooking bacon. Just bacon, to the tune of several packages, the empty ones either sitting in a trashcan or around the trashcan, haphazardly tossed there. The plate has a good-sized stack of already cooked stuff on it.

Care to bother him/ask wtf he's doing?]

Okay, okay. I'll try.

[Attempting to ignore is a go. Turning off the stove now and moving the plate of delicious artery doom to the table.]

Do you want any?

Sure. But I'm not just eating bacon. Do you want toast? Or eggs?

[But breakfast was hours ago.]

I can make some toast. You're on your own if you want eggs, though.

[bacon is usually a breakfast food though, but Kira will be searching through the fridge her stormcloud only rumbling a little]

Hmmmm... maybe we can have BLTs.

[It's also a meat product that's easy to cook in large quantities.]

Sounds good.

[He'll join her by the fridge. Feel free to hand him stuff if necessary.]

[you could just throw a roast in the oven; Kira will be passing Riku the lettuce and tomatoes and bread, then rustle up mayonnaise and other condiments]

Well, you're providing the bacon. Might as well use it properly.

[Shh, that would make sense. Stop making sense.]

I was going to use it properly. I was going to eat it.

[making sense is fun sometimes]

You can't eat just bacon. Your arteries will clog and you'll have a heart attack too!

It's not like I haven't eaten anything else today. But...I promise I'll eat some other stuff, too. How's that?

[He sets the ingredients in his arms down on the table and goes to look for utensils. He's not ignoring her, just doing stuff while waiting for her response.]

[that's fine, Kira can converse while working; her little stormcloud will just spit a tiny bolt of lightning in your direction]

That's good. How did you and Shiru like the pies I gave you for Thanksgiving?

[Rude stormcloud.]

They were good. Shiru ate half of one of them in one sitting and then blamed me for the stomachache he got.

[He was very amused by that.]

[the stormcloud doesn't like anybody really]

That's his fault then. Did you tell him off?

[Well, Riku doesn't like it back.]

Nah. I think he got the point without me saying anything. Do you want toast or no?

[the cloud knows and will spit out another tiny bolt]

Sure. I like my sandwiches with toasted bread.

Got it.

[Toast for you then, Kira. He doesn't know how she likes it, though, so the toaster is set to the lowest setting at first.]

[that'll be just fine; while Riku toasts bread, she'll be laying out the sandwich fixings and getting plates]

[A quick look-over of the stuff laid out, and]

No, I think you got everything.

[Brb toast get.]

[once Kira gets the toast, she'll be making those sandwiches]

Why did you make so much bacon anyway?

I'm pregnant.

[He's joking, but he sounds serious. He starts making his sandwich, pausing to see what her reaction to that is.]

...Not really, though. I had a craving for it and wasn't paying attention to how much I was cooking.

My sister is pregnant.

And you must've really been spacing out if you didn't notice you cooked so much.

[ta-dah~ Kira's sandwich is fighting gravity to not topple over but it's done]

[Tempted to poke that sammich to see if it falls over. He himself has a decent-sized sammich, mostly consisting of tomato and bacon.]

It smelled good. You have a sister?

[it probably would fall over since Kira's sandwich it mostly lettuce and tomato with a normal-sized amount of bacon]

That's because bacon is, like, a magical food. And I have an older sister. Her name is Namine.

[He smiles at that.]

Magical bacon. I doubt it, but you could be right about that.

[Looking at his sandwich as if appraising it, then back up at Kira.]

Naminé, huh? Don't know if I've met her.

[Kira is going to try and squash down her sandwich a little so she can eat it]

Magical bacon would be awesome. And Namine isn't like most of the other Namines here, since she was raised by my parents. But she's still sort of shy.

I'd like to meet her sometime. I'm always interested in people from other universes. Not that the people from my own aren't interesting, but...

[And then it's time for him to take a bite of sammich. Mm, tomato-bacony.]
