aprincess is playing on a large playground, wearing an adorable dress. There's all manner of outdoor toys with her, and she's occupying herself blowing bubbles into the wind.

dawnrise is... well, she's not in a dress, but she's not in jeans. It's a black skirt. For once. Before anyone panics, she's wearing a normal t-shirt ~~with Mickey Mouse on it~~, and her legs are covered. They're just covered by thigh highs. She's hanging out in the kitchen, which is piled with a mess of ingredients for pizza.

And then there's this guy.

hallowedshore has been gone for a couple days, but he's back now. He's walking down the hallway headed toward his room, dripping water all over the place. There's a steady trail of it from a nearby shower, and it looks like he took one fully dressed. His expression is blank and he smells unpleasantly of blood (which has stained his clothes), ash, and smoke, but not nearly as much as he did. ]

[He snorts, tilting his head toward one shoulder so the scorpion crawls up the side of his face.]

Good luck getting the same abilities out of accessories as you would a badass staff. Have you even asked her what she'd like to use?

I haven't really had the chance. I've only just been thinking about it.

[He pokes the scorpion with his tongue when it gets too close, looking much more relaxed than he did when they first ran into each other.]

Maybe go over the different kinds of weapons she could use first. She probably doesn't know half of what can be used, just like I didn't.

[ He will go inspect bats since they seem to like him. ]

[The way he's eying the scorpion makes it look like he's considering eating it, actually, but he just moves to feed his critters.]

I'd rather show her in books first. I doubt she'd fare well in a room of sharp "scary" things.

[ Thanks for not eating the scorpion. ]

[Aden just looks at him, then shakes his head and gets to feeding. Most of them can get their own food from stashes around his place, but he has to get the fresh things out of their containers and cages. Like vegetables, and crickets. And small mice.]

What? What's that look for?

That's why they mention timing.

[It's polite to offer. He's going to eat it, in that case.]

Who is they? And I still wanna know what I did to warrant a look like that.

[ Rikka just sighs then, since he isn't really in the frame of mind to play games. He's already made his own guesses. ]

[He's just kidding around. Better than giving in to being glum about what he did.]

I hope you plan on having time to hang out between babies and training.

I do plan on it. It's kind of odd to suddenly not have a... goal. Somewhere to be, to get to.

Run with it. I think I manage it pretty well.

[ He laughs softly. ]

Yeah, you manage plenty of excitement without really trying. Maybe I'll try to draw again. It's been months since I painted anything.
