(no subject)

[ It's like something right out of a horror movie. Aden's standing in the closest bathroom, completely uncaring about the open door in light of the fact that the place is covered in blood. There's a lot of it, covering part of his face and both hands, having dripped down his front, and it looks like he's the one responsible by the way it's splashed up in the bathroom sink and splattered across the mirror. Normally, this would be a perfectly acceptable every day deal, but Aden actually looks disturbed and uneasy. Which means this is definitely not your normal every day deal. ]

[He will willingly let her beat him bloody if it makes her feel better. He feels like one already. Riku crouches down and holds her blade up to her throat, looking like she really doesn't want to do this.]

I'm sorry.

[She means that. Even if she doesn't want kids and she doesn't want to end up with a future like theirs, she feels worse than she would if Aden were really a stranger. Aden's eyes crack open, because this is the first time he has ever been within speaking distance of his mom's younger self, but he nods and even manages a weak smile before she drags the sharp edge of her blade across his throat. One of his hands flies up to his throat on instinct as he starts coughing and choking on it, and Riku dismisses Way to Dawn to catch his other hand in her own. She's going to end up with blood splattered all over her front, but she doesn't really care.]

[okay yeah, turning away now, and there are more tears streaming down her face because of everything, but she's being quiet about it. her ears are pinned to the sides of her head, and she's just going to. stand there, arm cradled against her chest, and using the combined force of sad!Kai and sad!Axel to basically just look like the saddest goddamn thing in the world.]

[Her sadness is just going to make everyone feel worse, especially Aden, when his eyes dart to her as blood pours down his front. Riku moves to block at least part of her view of him, holding Aden's face to her shoulder as a gesture of comfort. He appreciates it, and then he's gone. Riku waits a few minutes and then carefully sets him back against the wall and starts making her way toward Inaya.]

[if she could not be sad, she totally would, but look at who her parents are. one has the biggest heart ever, and the other has such pure, intense emotions that he's basically the polar opposite of a Nobody. Inaya does try to stop the tears, at least, as Riku approaches.]

[She looks... like she really wants to say something, but nothing's coming up. Nothing that doesn't sound pathetic to her, anyway. So she steps up and tries to turn Inaya away.]

We need to get you home and see if there's anything in that bite to infect you.

[she nods and sniffles a little, but then forces her more determined face on and turns fully away from the gruesome scene. she's a child of the dressing room, she knows how death works here, and once it's done, that's it, you just wait for the person to come back. it's not fun, and it's certainly not the way it should be, but that's just how it is. hopefully Riku's okay with no talking, though; Inaya's throat hurts too much for that right now.]

[No, she's fine with silence. Inaya can lead, though, because Riku doesn't know where she lives. She's following right beside her, for several reasons. She doesn't want Inaya to be alone right now, and she doubts she wants to be, for emotional reasons and injuries. For another, if she is infected with something, Riku will repeat what she did with Aden. Then someone would have to explain to their parents...]

[well, she seems to be alright, just sad and injured, and exhausted now. it's not too far, at least, maybe a five minute walk at the most, to the same two-family house that Riku's been to before. it's just a little more crowded from the sides. \o/ there are probably toddler toys all over the porch.]

[the door is being flung open before they've ever reached the porch, with this guy damn near sprinting out.]

[Riku freezes where she is, alarmed but sort of- staying back. Inaya should know how to explain it, and Kai knows how to deal with everything, so her presence is mostly unnecessary. But--]

Don't heal her yet.

[but talking. :( she practically falls into Kai's arms, though, and manages a little bit of an explanation.]

Something happened to Aden... he went crazy and attacked me.

[there, you take it from here, Riku. that was kind of an explanation but knowing Kai it'll just make him more worried.]

...alright.

[he is definitely worried, but brings her inside, looking at Riku. you're coming, right? he wants to check her as well, just in case.]

[Hell, she might as well. Her shoulder is kind of covered in Aden's blood. Besides, she'd be surprised if Kai was okay with her leaving. So she's following them inside, and she'll close the door if she needs to.]

I don't know what happened. When I found them he had her pinned to the floor and his hands around her neck.

[She doesn't think it's necessary to point out the bite wounds.]

[Kai will bring Inaya to the couch and sit her down, Light flaring out visibly for a moment as he scans her for infection, or whatever else Aden could have transferred.]

[Riku stands a little ways away, hands in her pockets so she doesn't get blood on anything. She's also looking around, half expecting someone else to show up.]

[right on cue, Axel comes banging down the stairs, looking worried but calm.]

What happened?

[Inaya looks ready to fall asleep right where she's leaning heavily against Kai, now that she's safe, but she makes tired grabby hands for Axel, who goes and sits down next to his baby girl to comb his fingers through her hair. the two of them still have an especially strong bond, even though he's only known this version for a couple of months, and he's not the version she's familiar with, but it doesn't really matter.]

[when the scan comes up clean for anything foreign in Inaya's system, Kai's Light turns healing, washing over her injuries gently. Riku's going to get a Cure too, even if she isn't injured.]

[She looks startled, mostly because she didn't really need it at all. She's really glad to see that Inaya's not infected with anything, though.]

Thanks...

[She hesitates, looking between Axel and Kai.]

He's dead. I killed him.

[Inaya's expression doesn't change, but she visibly relaxes once her injuries are on the mend. Axel sighs, but then smiles sympathetically at Riku.]

I know you wouldn't have if it wasn't necessary. Hopefully he'll be able to clear up some of the confusion about what happened when he comes back.

[he looks at Kai.]

Red might be able to tell what it was just from a description of his behavior.

Mm. I'll go see him. I'd rather tell them about this in person.

[he looks over to Riku and smiles faintly.]

Inaya has some clothing over here if you'd like to change out of that. Feel free to use the shower if needed, too.

... I think I should go.

[She appreciates it, but she feels really uncomfortable staying here. Way more than she would normally. She killed one of their family, after all, and his parents are right next door, and she's only ever killed enemies before this, and...]

[Axel looks like he wants to say something, but shuts up when Inaya sits a little more upright to look at Riku. it still hurts like a bitch to talk, but it's a little better now that Kai's healed her, and this is important anyway.]

It's okay, Riku, I understand, really. I'm just happy you came along when you did, and that you got me here.

Alright. Thank you for saving her, Riku.

[he means it, too. he doesn't blame her at all for killing Aden, and he doubts Riku and Red will either. hell, if anything, they'd be happy she did it, so he wouldn't be suffering anymore. or something. hopefully.]

[Riku hesitates for a moment, fumbling over whatever she was going to say, then she nods and heads out the door.]
