[ It's like something right out of a horror movie. Aden's standing in the closest bathroom, completely uncaring about the open door in light of the fact that the place is covered in blood. There's a lot of it, covering part of his face and both hands, having dripped down his front, and it looks like he's the one responsible by the way it's splashed up in the bathroom sink and splattered across the mirror. Normally, this would be a perfectly acceptable every day deal, but Aden actually looks disturbed and uneasy. Which means this is definitely not your normal every day deal. ]

['Riku' can tell immediately that there's something seriously wrong with Aden, but he can't get down to business with Kira in the way; he's pretty sure she shouldn't be seeing this either]

Kira. You did good to call me. But you're not staying here until I'm sure it's safe. You go into the next hallway over until I come and get you.

[He just... kind of deflates, leaning back against the wall and looking simultaneously defeated and really, really pissed off. He's avoiding looking at her, specifically.]

[Kira puts up a bit of a fuss until Riku puts a hand on her shoulder and pushes her in the direction she needs to be going -- she takes one last look over her shoulder at Aden; and now her Barrier wavers some because of the distance]

[now that it's just the boys, Riku will be frowning in Aden's general direction]

Talk. Explain to me why you're trying to kill your cousin and beating your head against the wall.

[He turns to look a Riku, glaring acid.]

I have a fucking parasite nesting in my brain right now that makes me want to take people, like her, and cut them up still alive for feasting. Do you want all the gory details on what I'll do if I get my hands on her?

[He's trying to get Riku to incapacitate him or something, now that Kira's gone. Killing would be better. He couldn't ask Kira to do that, and he wasn't about to mention doing it himself in front of her.]

[Riku frowns at the description, but he realizes this is serious and he knows why Aden didn't say anything to Kira; he eyes the Light Barrier, then looks over Aden, and Soul Eater appears in his hand]

Can you keep yourself still, or should I just burn you where you stand?

[He's got enough control for that, he thinks.]

The whole family is going to kick my ass for this. We'll move into one of the room. I'll take of everything.

[Riku holds out a hand, manipulating Kira's Barrier to shatter, only to be replaced by a Dark one of his own that'll move with Aden]

Go. Opposite direction of Kira. What I did will disorient her enough to get us far enough away.

[He's got a brief, lopsided smile on his face at the first part. He's not the only one who's going to get his ass kicked, and he certainly doesn't deserve it. In Aden's opinion, anyway. He nods and starts walking immediately, fast, keeping his eyes in the ground.]

You're lucky that it was me that answered instead of someone else. And once you come back, you're telling me exactly what you did to get this way, so it doesn't happen again.

[Riku will lead Aden far enough away from Kira's direction that she won't get a hint of anything, pulling open a door that leads to a random empty kind of bedroom]

I swear it was an accident. Just don't tell Kira anything. Or my parents. Please.

[He's willing to tell them everything when he gets back.]

I'm going to have to tell Kira something, so she doesn't think she turned you into a zombie. And yes, I know about that little escapade from Ri. But I'll cover for you this once. I mean it about you telling me what happened when you're back.

[Riku brings Soul Eater up, the Dark Barrier around Aden thinning out; he hates that he has to do this to family, but he knows it has to be done -- damn Riku hates having to be responsible though]

[He cringes and squeezes his eyes shut. Aden isn't afraid of death - he's probably not capable of being afraid of it, with his Halloween Town blood. But he's not looking forward to the pain.]

Don't thank me for having to do something like this. I don't like that it has to be done.

[Riku raising his blade was just a feint, once Aden's eyes close the Dark Barrier crushes down while being filled with Dark Firaga, incineration-hot in a small, Aden-shaped, space]

[There's a nod in response to that, because he understands. He wouldn't like it either, and he's talked about it with older family members who have had to do this sort of thing. He wishes he could have just stashed himself away somewhere and taken care of it himself. But he's very grateful for it, too, and he will be even more so once he's back for the way Riku went about it. It's quick, at least.]

[Riku keeps the Dark Firaga going until he's sure there's nothing left, and makes a face at the dark smudge left on the floor; as he leaves the room, he'll set it on fire as well, to destroy any evidence of what was done]
