[Why, exactly, is there a sandstorm brewing down this alleyway? ...Must be Tuesday. In any case, two figures well-covered in desert robes and wrappings are making their way slowly out of it, fighting against the wind, the smaller one held closely to the larger's side.

As from their perspective the barrage lets up, dumping a puddle of sand around the street, the larger one looks up and drops his hood. Piercing inhuman yellow eyes, harsh narrow features-
Oh. Hello, Kurt.

He looks down towards his smaller companion - his daughter, in fact, though she seems to have grown at least a little bit since she was last seen - and smiles...]

... well. Looks like we're back.

((Been a while, so trying to kick some life into these two with a bit of an update.))

[she was distracted by the sound of the sandstorm- it's not exactly something common, after all. but her tired expression lights up when she sees who's there as she rounds a corner.]

[Layla's shaking off the hood and headscarf she's wearing: her hair's definitely grown, no longer in the wild bunches she had it in before but tied neatly back. She's obviously happy to be here.]

It was cool at first! But it's kind of ... backwards there. [Layla gives her father an apologetic look, as he gives her a rather stern one.] Sorry, dad.

[It's probably not very often Kurt comes across someone who can outclass him in the size department, even in his natural form, but this particular arrival might just be able to do it. He doesn't seem to be particularly threatening right now, but there's something a little odd in how he's managing to fight in the alleyway.]
