[an eerie fog has quickly overtaken a portion of Radiant Garden. if one happens to notice the odd, wet sound of metal beating on flesh and investigates, they will find Sora, dressed unusually (third outfit), in the middle of beating what appears to be a dead dog repeatedly with a pipe. though this may seem oddly cruel for her, a closer look at the dog will explain things somewhat. Sora's expression is full of fear and panic; she clearly has no idea what's happening or why instead of her sword, she summoned a simple, rusty pipe. she doesn't even notice the faint static coming from the radio in one of her vest's pockets. please, do be careful out there.]

(ooc: another early halloween costume, silent hill protagonist get. reposting after deleting it before oops. set during daytime, though the area is also quite dark for daylight hours, aside from the fog. lamp posts will be flickering occasionally, there may be the sound of movement nearby, though nothing will attack; for now any Silent Hill monsters that show up around Sora will be focused entirely on her thanks to the costume.)

[From the fog Sora may hear a scratchy sound of something sliding, perhaps slithering across the stone streets of Radiant Garden. Fainter than that is the sound of bare feet. Whatever it is, it's quickly approaching her.]

[she whirls around, pipe held in front of her defensively. there's a flashlight in one of her vest pockets, the dim light unable to break through the fog. she's trembling, breathing hard, and just waiting to see what sort of monster will follow this dog. the closer it gets, the more tense and ready to swing that heavy pipe she is.]

[She'll see the outline of a human shape first, the soft slithering moving with it. It stops several feet from her, then starts moving again, long, thick strands of something melting away from its arms--]

Sora?

[she's nearly hyperventilating by the time Riku's voice comes, her trembling having gotten so bad the pipe is visibly shaking. Heartless she can handle; horror movie stuff when she has no magic at her disposal is something else entirely. when she speaks, her voice is high and frightened, cracking slightly.]

R-Riku?

Yeah, it's me. What's going on-

[she cuts herself off abruptly, having made her way close enough to see the display. The pipe, the dog, the mess. She looks kind of horrified. Apparently that slithering sound was coming from her hair, which has grown several feet. There's more of it on the ground than there is on Riku, and it's layered over her arms.]

[she spends a moment staring at all that hair, then lowers the pipe slowly. Sora looks like she's gotten into several fights, some of which didn't go nearly as well as she would have liked. there's bandages wrapped around one of her thighs, and the blood stains on her clothing would probably be much more visible if the clothes weren't black and red.]

[Riku shakes her head, dumping the pile of hair on the ground and walking over. Despite how much of it there is, she's not having any trouble moving around. It's magically weightless!]

Forget that. What happened to you? What is that?

I don't- I don't know, they just keep coming and I can't summon my sword or use magic!

[she gestures wildly at the dog corpse thing, pointing to its mouth specifically, with its unnatural tongue and the skin pushed up off its nose.]

Th-that's the fourth one!

Come on. Let's get you inside somewhere.

[That's disgusting. If the place will let her, Riku will cast a cure on her. she doesn't know how much of that mess is from Sora and how much is from the dog-- dogs.]

Okay.

[she'll go easily enough, though she's not letting go of that pipe. if the cure did anything at all, she's not reacting to it. find her a health drink instead.]

[Riku crouches down to pick up some of her hair and roll it up to hoist over her shoulder. Her clothes are still her own, at least for now.]

My powers haven't changed. If more of them show up I'll help you.

[Unless her hair gets caught on something.]

...okay, good.

[that makes her relax just a little, though she immediately tenses up again as the faint static coming from her radio suddenly becomes much louder.

there's a noise, like screeching metal, that makes Sora cringe and raise her pipe back up, turning toward the sound warily. focused on that, she doesn't see the shadow looming in the fog somewhere behind her. does Riku?]

[The static makes her look over, and it's a good thing it does. She notices the shadow after a moment of focusing and drops the hair she'd been holding, eyes wide.]

Sora! Over there!

[Fog, what fog? It does feel rather damp in the air. Riku's frowning and looks to be peering ahead toward the sounds, but mostly it's him trying to figure out what he's listening to.]

[it's going to take a bit for Sora to notice him at all, but when she does, she's quite startled.]

Sora? What are you doing over there?

N...nothing. You shouldn't be out here, Riku, it's not safe.

[the wet thudding has stopped, as Sora's definitely not going to keep beating on a corpse in the presence of a friend.]

When is it ever safe with Heartless around the DR? Really Sora, I'll be fine. Are you okay?

[If anything, he's picked up on her tone of voice. Before he gets much closer he stops again, nose wrinkling. What is that smell?]

Y-ye- no. I'm not okay. We need to get out of here before something else comes.

[if he gets closer, he may end up stepping in blood!]

[Ugh, no, he is not moving closer until he knows what's going on. Especially since the last time he was around a large pool of blood something killed him.]

[Sora is getting zinged with a well-aimed Cure spell. He's got a potion on him as well, but figures Sora wouldn't appreciate it being chucked at her when she's not fighting.]

Why don't we get you somewhere where you can get cleaned up?

[before things come crawling out of the woodwork. she's going to move to grab his arm. he'll probably be able to notice how bad she's shaking.]
