[She wrinkles her nose at your chocolate-coated accusations, good sir. Then she picks up her menu again to browse the desserts.]

[My goodness this cake is tasty. Except about halfway through it he gets an odd expression on his face and pushes out of his chair.]

I'll be right back.

[She glances at him, having finally found something she might try, and her eyebrows go up.]

Okay.

[He'll return a few minutes later with a somewhat sour expression, settling down and getting back to his cake.]

[Riku's poking at ~~the remains of~~ a slice of chocolate peanut butter pie, but she looks up when he sits back down.]

Are you alright?

Yeah, I'm fine.

[Grumble grumble.]

Just being female.

[She stares at him for a few seconds, then her head tips back like she's understood.]

Don't tell me...

Okay, I won't.

[Red, stop that. He's going to finish his cake pretty fast and look to see if there's anything else he wants. This news requires sweets gdit.]

[She scowls at him briefly.]

I was going to ask if you wanted to try this.

[He could try the puppy dog eyes. But he won't.]

I could just get one myself.

[She rolls her eyes and pushes her plate over. If he likes it enough, he can.]

[Wooo. He will try it, hmmm-ing thoughtfully.]

Not bad.

Better than plain chocolate.

[Oh yeah, she went there.]

[Hmph.]

It was double chocolate, alright.

Slightly more impressive.

[She can admit that much.]

I thought so.

[Good. There was some dark chocolate in there probably.]

[He would. Also, dark chocolate is superior. She waits a minute to say anything else, looking out the window casually.]

So what if I got pregnant?

[Does she hear that spittake. She might feel it, if she's unlucky enough.]

[She jerks back in her seat. She was lucky enough not to, but it was still unexpected.]

[He's just going to be coughing into a napkin. There is coffee staining his jacket now. GOOD JOB.]

[She didn't know he'd react like that! She's pulling more napkins out of the holder to hand to him.]

I guess that answers my question.

I didn't expect a question like that while I was drinking. What brought that on?

[Oh thanks. He'll be mopping himself up now.]

I didn't know you were going to do that. I was just asking.

[She settles back down, staring at him and looking somewhat uncomfortable. ~~Is he wondering if she's pregnant yet.~~]

[He is, sort of. But he figures if she actually was she'd be a little more, um. forward about it.]

Questions like that don't exactly come about without prompting.

[She would hopefully find a better opportunity to tell him than a lunch not-date when he's female. If she managed to stop clinging to Kai for comfort. She shrugs, pushing the remains of her pie away to the side.]

You're female, apparently on your period, and it made me think.
