[a reclusive ~~chinchilla~~ Riku has appeared! his hair is getting quite long and has been pulled into a sloppy braid. he's dressed in a worn sweater and jeans with holes in the knees, a small box of children's books tucked against his side and a couple stuffed animals riding on top of it. he looks tired, but seems to be functioning pretty well! who knows why he's been so... not around though. he has been here, however.]

[he smiles and leans down to set the box down.]

[ sing song voice. Also, upon further inspection, Chichi will notice a bird sitting in Sora's hair-- ]

Just picking up some new books from the library.

[and a few toys. he does notice the bird, but doesn't question it.]

What kind of books?

[ It's probably a good thing he doesn't. Also, squee, I want books read me books I like books BOOKS. ]

Some stuff I thought you or Riku might like.

[he has diabolical plans involving teaching them to read I DUNNO MAN.]

[ IS LIKE. LEAKING HAPPINESS NOW. ]

[I already put the box down in like the second comment you doofus. but here, he'll take out one of the books for her to see.]

[yes he just called the bird a hat.]

It's not a hat! It's a birdie named Jimbo. He started following me after I got hit in the back with an arrow, and he sings to me sometimes! But right now he's sad, because his girlfriend Trudy just went to go tell the bunnies that I don't need anything right now.

[someone is going to be peering out of the door to where you live, his blankie over his head and a guilty expression on his face.]

[oh dear, guilty expressions never mean anything good.]

Riku?

[he ducks back into the room when he's spotted, but his voice is still audible.]

Promise you won't get mad?

...I promise I won't get mad.

[oh god what did he do. what's broken, what's ruined. DX]

[he'll come out again slowly, something obviously behind his back. he still looks unsure even with that promise, but after a few moments of awkwardness, he'll be giving Chichi a purple arrow.]

[he blinks down at the arrow, surprised, and then worried.]

Where did you get this? Did it hit you?

[guiiiilty look. and a nod.]

I was on the potty an' someone came in and shot me in the belly with it.

[luckily, he was already sitting down.]

Were you hurt? What did it do?

[he's going to kneel down, putting the box down so he can take hold of Riku gently.]

[he shakes his head a bit, then stops. it didn't hurt, but.. well, he doesn't often go around with a blanket over his head either.]

[will he try to stop Chichi if he goes to remove the blanket?]

[nope, but he does close his eyes and hunch his shoulders a little when he does, two gray, roundish and very softly-furred ears drooping against his head. there's a matching tail to go with them, but it's currently stuffed into his pants.]

[he stops short when he sees those, runs his fingers lightly over one, then lets out a breathy laugh.]

You had me worried something bad happened, Riku.
