how is babby formed

[this pregnant female Axel is reclining on a couch in the common area closest to the family hall, dozing a little with an arm draped over the bulge of her stomach. she jerks awake, though, when there's a sudden spasm that kind of hurts. she's dozed off again, fifteen minutes later, when it happens again, and she sits up a little, looking alarmed.]

((ooc: open to anyone who knows smolderingf1re and regalheart personally. threadhopping/jumping in late is highly encouraged, as multiple threads all leading to the same end point don't make a huge amount of sense. <3 ))

[he's actually drifted closer to Riku, giving Axel and Kai both a good amount of space.]

[having Kai there and holding her lets her focus a little more, and after a few incredibly painful pushes with nothing happening except more ragged screaming from her, she rocks forward a little and pushes and suddenly the head is through and out, preceded by the sac of fluid still surrounding it. give Axel a moment to sob breathlessly and remember that she's not through yet.]

Almost there, sweetheart. You're almost finished.

[he's kind of breathless as well, because this is actually happening, something's actually coming out and he almost can't believe it. he'll just continue to help keep her balanced, thumb rubbing against her hip.]

[As soon as the head is out she's moving over to them automatically, not putting her hands on Axel but holding them out, ready to catch that baby.]

You're doing fantastic. Get the shoulders out and you're done.

[he... really should have stayed where he was. he'd been trying not to look, but couldn't help it when Riku started moving toward them. don't mind that thump, you guys, he's out cold anyway.]

[sobbing. tries to catch her breath, not even noticing slaveku passing out, and bears down again, pushing with everything she's got, and with one last drawn-out hoarse scream, out comes the rest of baby. \o/ ]

[if Axel wants to collapse back, he's got her. and she's getting a gentle hug when she finishes.]

You did it, babe. You did it.

[One baby successfully and oh-so-carefully caught. Poor Riku's getting ignored down there on the floor, because baby has this one's full and undivided attention as she carefully eases the kid around in her hands. Things might suddenly become messier as Riku takes hold of the sack with one hand and makes a tear near the baby's neck to very carefully pull it up, over the face... and then she stares.]

[will just collapse back into Kai's arms, yes, sobbing in relief, because it doesn't hurt any more, and it's over. I hope you had towels down there, olderku. despite her exhaustion, she's picking her head up again to look, and omg. omg husband look at our little mutant baby WHAT IS ITS GENDER RIKU.]

[our baby is hideous- I mean. he's looking at Riku in very plain curiosity as well, holding his breath without realizing it as he wraps Axel up in a proper hug from behind.]

[She was a little distracted by something else, and she might have had as few as six towels, but no less than that! Riku also had one tossed over her shoulder, a very soft one, which she is now shrugging off and using to carefully cushion your baby with, because she's going to move closer so the both of you can get a good look.]

It's a girl. You have a daughter.

[will just be crying over here, and leaning forward to touch the damp red fuzz posing as hair on the baby's head, and the ears, and that umbilical cord had better be taken care of quick, because if you hold onto that baby too long, Riku, Axel may start to get snarly. she's feeling very possessive now.]

[he'll just be resting his chin on Axel's shoulder, looking totally in awe over here.]

[Are you kidding me? She's holding her out for one of them to take. Axel, specifically. The cord should be plenty long enough for that.]

Take her. She's yours.

[takes her, omg, bundling her up close and nuzzling her. Axel's completely running on baser intuition and instincts now, gently using the edges of the towel to dry the baby off (at least she's not licking her clean!), rubbing color into her skin until baby opens her tiny mouth and starts crying, at which point Axel starts crying a little again too and shifts around a bit so Kai can touch her too.]

She's gorgeous.

[he's almost scared touching her will cause something to go wrong, but he does anyway, because this is their child and he can't even believe this is real.]

[Riku will just back up and give them some space to let it all sink in. They've made a beautiful baby, and Riku's absolutely giddy for them. She's all smiles over here.]

[leans up to kiss Kai, feeling so safe and contented like this, in her husband's arms, and with their child- their daughter in her own arms, and still attached to her.]

She is, and she's ours. We made this, Kai.

We did. I can hardly believe it.

[presses another kiss to Axel's temple, then her cheek, then looks back down at the baby again.]

[Riku's going to... dart off to clean herself and get something to dispose of those towels. There's plenty more to do, but it's pretty much over now, and Axel will be the one taking care of the rest.

...she'll find something to put under the younger Riku's head, too.]

[he'll start to stir when she does that, but the first thing he sees is Axel holding a very wrinkly thing that looks baby-shaped, with a cord still connecting them. he didn't mean to see that much, but the sight has him out like a light as soon as he realizes where that cord is still going.]

[still oblivious to slaveku's status, sorry. also good thing he's out again, and olderku went somewhere else, because Axel's examining the cord connecting the baby to her, and then ducking her head and biting clean through it, close to the baby's tummy.]

You better brush your teeth before we kiss again.

[he's teasing. mostly. and snuggling Axel and baby.]

[You say that like Olderku would be at all disgusted. Her baby eats maggots. There's not much you can do to get to her. But anyway, she's trying not to bustle around too much, she just wants to clean things up so they can all be comfortable and not have to worry about anything but their new daughter. Who, by the way, is one thing Riku won't be going near especially; she's fully confident Axel will figure out what to do with her.]

[this is true. Riku will at least need to explain about the placenta coming out too, because Axel's not really aware of that part of the process. she's a little distracted right now anyway, and it might catch her by surprise if she's not braced for it. :|a anyway, she's nuzzling the baby again, the ears especially, which seems to be quieting baby's crying.]
