[the door will open a second later, with a very frustrated-looking Riku still tugging at the collar. he's already got a ring of reddened skin around his neck from his efforts of shoving it over his head to no avail]

I can't get this weird necklace off!

Hold on, let me see if there's a latch on it or something.

[there still isn't, is there.]

[holds still while Kai looks, tilting his head down to make it easier to see. though Riku's gotten younger, the collar is in the same shape as it was earlier that day. both the hinge and the latch are still welded shut]

Did you find it?

[damn. he sighs, shaking his head.]

I'm sorry. It looks like the way to take it off got melted together.

[he frowns at that, not liking that answer at all. big people are supposed to know how to fix everything, right?]

But... Can't you make it come off?

[if only that were true.]

I don't think so. It's too thick to cut through unless we found some really heavy duty tools, and that would be too dangerous to your neck.

Then... then how did it get melted on? I don't remember falling asleep.

[he's not really sure how his clothes got changed either, but he's having trouble figuring out how all this could have happened]

I really have no idea.

[he sounds incredibly apologetic though.]

[gives it a few more tugs before giving up and trying to see the names on the charms again]

What if Kairi sees it? She might laugh at me, or think I stole her necklace! Or this other guy.. Axel?

I don't think you'll have to worry about that.

[he really doesn't want to explain.]

[he gives one more frustrated pull before giving up, his hands going to rub at his neck instead, still frowning]

If I gotta wear it, I don't think the Axel one should be next to the Kairi one. Kairi's ours. Mine and Sora's.

And I'm sure she knows that.

[Riku's getting a weak Cure in case he hurt himself tugging on that collar.]

But I don't know if those can be moved.

[jumps because the Cure tingled, blinking at Kai. he'd been making his neck red, and had shoved up on the collar hard enough earlier to start forming a circular bruise under his chin, but the cure took care of that.]

You're not a very good grownup. You're supposed to know how to fix everything.

Grownups can't do everything, Riku. It might seem like it a lot, but that's just because we've had time to learn things. I don't know any grownup who is able to fix everything.

[honestly, why are children so difficult.]

Not even the really old grownups? They know lots of stuff.

Well, they've had a really long time to learn all that stuff, haven't they? I've learned a lot of stuff considering my age, but I don't know a lot about fixing things, for example.

I guess so. What kind of stuff do you know?

Well... I know basic highschool stuff, and how to fight and use magic, as well as how to heal and even a little medical stuff.

What kind of magic?

Well, there are some basic offensive spells, like Fire and Blizzard, then a healing spell, and a couple others... plus I've got some abilities where I basically trace things into the air with a paintbrush, and it makes different techniques happen.

Can I see some?

[onoes, his kid side is showing. he's even forgotten about the collar for the moment.]
