[he's sitting at a table somewhere, a cup of coffee nearby, his briefcase leaning against the table leg, and his laptop out. he's currently staring at the screen, which is filled with a mass of calculations and formulae, tapping his chin in thought.]

Hmmm. I suppose that as frustrating as it is being stuck here, it gives me time to perfect certain projects. I don't suppose anyone knows the components of this 'truth gas' that seems to have affected that majority of this place's occupants?

So are you going to make the truth gas thing again after you find out what's in it?

It depends on whether or not it is useful at the time of completion.

[smiles.] It'd be very useful to me.

And what would be the point in giving it to you? [raises an eyebrow]

I'd give you one of those hearts you don't know about in exchange.

While that would be interesting to experiment with, I do not have the proper equipment for such a thing, nor would knowledge of it have any influence on my life's work.

[scoffs.]

There's whole rooms with that kind of equipment. And the stuff you're working on isn't going to be as useful around here as finding out about hearts.

Is there? I admit I have not explored as much of this place as I could have by now. And it does not matter whether it is useful here or not.

You won't be saying that if you get turned into a Nobody.

What is a Nobody?

It's what's left of you after your heart gets taken.

I suppose I will just have to be careful then.
