The Dark is everywhere. It is between the stars, it is under stones and beds, it is all around us and it chases our feet and we can never escape it.

But do you know how much light it takes to drive back the dark?

A candle.

One. Single. Candle.

And hope is more than a candle

Hope can ignite the stars.

The very hope that inspired your young friend to act against me. That same hope that sent him into a nameless oblivion. Someday you will accept that the darkness has snuffed out the proverbial candle, your hope, and every star left in the sky.

Wind will meet the walls of the Dark and will die out in its attempts to overcome a power deemed eternal. Water will be appropriately caged, used only as this power sees fit. Earth will be reshaped, molded into a far more acceptable image for the sake of Dark, Light, Nothing, Everything. One point of origin, one thousand points of rebirth.

Light your candle if you like, but I would advise you to do so only as an act of mourning for the lives that have been and will again be forgotten.
