[Pretends to have no idea at all as to why he's waking hours before dawn and fleeing from any remotely darkened room, which may induce sleep. Nightmares? What nightmares?

On another note, rediscovers how much coffee and Roxas mesh much like the contents of a train-wreck. Maybe it's just the nature of being rudely awakened, then denying yourself any rest through the night or following morning, which makes downing the muddy bilious stuff torture. This is shown by the way he's squinting blue-ringed eyes at the ceramic mug which said...unholy liquid..is growing tepid within.

Perhaps that glare could will it away, because getting up and walking to the sink ...isn't an option. Not when curling up in the embrace of a toasty-warm sofa is possible instead.

And it's so peaceful that he can't resist shutting one eye for a while... or maybe both. But they're blinking open after a minute or ten, so that's not encouraging sleep- right? Then neither is propping head on knees, arms around legs and letting the afghan fall over his eyes a bit. ....Not sleeping. No, no.

..Roxas is just still awake if he's -thinking- & concentrating on his thoughts in order to stay conscious. Mmhm~ Right.. t-thinki-..]

[Dead to the world.]

[that does not escape Axel's notice, and he's pretty sure he knows what Roxas's mind is going back to. He nods, wishing he hadn't brought it up...but the words themselves were somewhat involuntary. Awkward silence is a go.]

[there's a short laugh. Relief, amusement, genuine disbelief - he doesn't know and he doesn't care.]

So I did. I'm making too many of those nowadays.

[identity profile] a-ccidentalism.livejournal.com 2008-06-05 02:22 pm (UTC)(link)
[he would rather not. It wasn't admitting it in the first place, and getting into the specifics at this point is a little more difficult. Not that he doesn't trust this Roxas or anything like that.]

Is that so. Sorry to disappoint, but I'm not one for pontification.

[identity profile] a-ccidentalism.livejournal.com 2008-06-05 02:34 pm (UTC)(link)
[shrugs and smiles apologetically. If Roxas only knew how rare actual peace and quiet was for him, occurring so seldom that Axel has developed a preference for it. Strange penchant for someone whose sphere of influence was fire...but also logical in a twisted way.

But one-on-one conversations also fell in the same category.

Ever tried sea-salt ice cream?

[identity profile] a-ccidentalism.livejournal.com 2008-06-05 02:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow. You're deprived for a Roxas.

[identity profile] a-ccidentalism.livejournal.com 2008-06-05 02:53 pm (UTC)(link)
[A Roxas is usually seen around the following: an Axel or sea-salt ice cream. The order varies according to said Roxas's mood. Though when HIS Roxas is concerned, it's usually the latter. For about ten seconds or so before he shows up and tries to converse with/annoy (depending on who you asked) the kid.]

Okay, I'm exaggerating. But seriously, you've never had it? Thought it was as instinctive as "got it memorized?" is for me.

[identity profile] a-ccidentalism.livejournal.com 2008-06-05 03:09 pm (UTC)(link)
[files that appointment away in his mind. See, there he goes again. But he doesn't particularly mind.]

You'd be surprised, Rox.

[identity profile] a-ccidentalism.livejournal.com 2008-06-05 03:34 pm (UTC)(link)
[watches. There's a peculiar stillness reflected in his eyes. You're talking to someone who was created - who knows all about how perfectly expendable he is.]

I seriously doubt that. It'd be silly to say another Roxas could make me...

[trails off, a little uncomfortable with the (un)certainty of the unfinished statement.]

'sides, it'd be boring if everyone who looked the same acted the same.

[identity profile] a-ccidentalism.livejournal.com 2008-06-05 03:56 pm (UTC)(link)
[smiles.]

Thanks, Rox.

...don't underestimate yourself either, y'know?

[identity profile] a-ccidentalism.livejournal.com 2008-06-05 04:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Tch. I'm not that high-maintenance.

[identity profile] a-ccidentalism.livejournal.com 2008-06-05 04:16 pm (UTC)(link)
[smirk.]

Because like you said, I'm just so fragile.

[identity profile] a-ccidentalism.livejournal.com 2008-06-05 04:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh. Nice to know I've got someone looking out for me. [joking or sincere? Maybe both.]

Though I think if anyone attacks me, you're gonna miss most of the fun.
