[this is different. Here's a Zexion that looks much older than the others, about forty years old]

The next time you decide to wander off into a parallel reality, Luca, I'd like to know in advance. Or, to be more specific, I'd like to know just where you're going. This world is heavily populated with... duplicates, from the looks of it. And with such a vast amount, of course I'd like to at least get a few notes down.

...for those who haven't a clue what I'm speaking of, or whom I'm speaking to, if you've happened to see a girl with pink hair, about sixteen, I'd like to know. She happened to disappear a few weeks ago, and I've traced her to here.

[Sitting on top of a crate, looking at him with his legs swinging freely]

Are you Luca's dad?

Yes, that is correct. I suppose you've met her, then?

Yeah, she did. And a younger you who kept insisting he wasn't her father. [shrug]

A younger me. Well, I did notice quite a few of them. Which one in particular was it?

Let's see... [While thinking, he summoned a portal and stuck his hand in it, pulling out a Sea Salt Ice cream and eating it]

He said, in his reality, he has no children and that he was not infatuated with Luca's mom. [A pause] And he said he was dating Aunt Kairi.

...that's rather interesting. How old did he appear to be?

...hm, about 22 years old, I guess.

...Twenty-two.

Kairi left when I was seventeen. I haven't seen her since... He's very lucky.

Did he mention..."Vortexx", perchance?

Oh yeah. He mentions it all the time. He and Ryuu, actually. [small frown before biting off a part of the ice cream OW OW BRAIN FREEZE]

He must be from a different reality, then. It's the only possibility, not that I have any complaints. I'm content with Haruko, but when I was younger... well, I was stubbornly in love.

Also, it doesn't surprise me that Ryuu would mention it, or another version of me, really. Vortexx is...unique. I should know, as I've spent more than twenty years there.

[Massaging his head. Stupid brain freeze]

Too unique. With the candies and my dad naming a cat after Riku and Uncle Sora being an exhibitionist and all. Ack.

So you already know what this place is? Usually, new people would be asking right about now.

Strange. Sora never became an exhibitionist in my version of Vortexx, although Roxas did name a cat after Riku. In the end, he and Riku ended up together, actually.

I'm rather used to the concept of parallel realities, not to mention duplicates. More or less, I've simply never seen such a mass amount of lookalikes. Otherwise, it's nothing too spectacular.

Well, Ryuu said it had something to do with body swapping and Uncle Sora body swapped with a guy named Duo.

[A small pause] ...he tells the weirdest stories.

...you have to be the only person I know that has...two other variations. I mean, there's younger Vortexx you, older Other Vortexx you...and you.

...this is confusing me.

Hm, I do recall a body swap years ago, but that was due to Bakura, and at the time Sora was hardly present at all. Then again, things must have occurred differently in this other Vortexx, if I'm not only with Kairi, but Sora is an exhibitionist, and there are occurrences that I don't recall.

Two variations... well, I'd assume that both are from the same reality, if there's any consistency between the two. I can see how it would baffle people, though.

...makes me wonder now how your younger version would take it to see two other older versions of himself.

[Throws away the Popsicle stick in a random portal]

Probably no different than the younger version that is here. It took me a long time to change, after all.

But he's pretty hard working. Recently he's taken it upon himself to list how many versions of Uncle Sora, Aunt Kairi, mom, dad, Goddad, Uncle Riku and dad's once-coworkers are here. [See Axel stumble through that one. He's too polite to call anyone older by name]

That certainly is quite the task. I've already detected a couple hundred scents and haven't even began to decipher them.

We're rounding the number to 600. At least a hundred are versions of my dad. Thirty of my mom.

...kinda freaky.

Strange. Then again, that does make sense. The abundance of Roxae is blatant, as with the many Soras.

And Goddad and Uncle Riku. This place has weird taste.

In my defense, my stories aren't anywhere as weird as the ones Sonic would tell when he was around. Crazy hedgehog.

Yeah. Came from a place called "Mobius" and was the leader of some freedom fighter group, I think. Never talked to him, but his entries were hard to miss.

...right, have I really mentioned how weird I find your world is? This place only comes in second.

Hah. Vortexx, if you really want to get technical, isn't anyone's world. We've just lived there so long that we consider it home; place has no "native" residents. They're all refugees from other worlds that just get pulled in, like a vacuum. But it's definitely strange...but probably not as bad as Luca's world. Haruko having a kid just...doesn't make sense.

How come? I mean, Luca's there, isn't she?

Not where me, Kairi, Zex', and most of the Vortexxers here are from. First of all, Haruko's...special.

She's a bit of a wild card who's selfish to a fault, tends to make no sense, sends porn to kids, manufacture candies and other items with weird effects, and generally doesn't care about anyone besides herself. Zexion was an exception, and I think she and Kairi are friends now. But, if that's not all, Haruko's thirty-five. When she first showed up? Twenty-nine. That's already pretty old. Maybe she's different in that alternate Vortexx, but I seriously doubt it.

You may not believe it, but I think it's possible. [His legs start swinging earnestly from the crate he's sitting on] I mean, haven't this place taught you anything?

As crazy as something might sound, it could have happened. You got the evidence right here in this place, Ryuu. [points to Luca and then himself]

Yeah, I know. Different worlds, different rules. I've pretty much made a motto out of that for this place. I guess it's just strange...but no stranger than Larxene having a kid.

Yeah, that kind of broke my brain a bit. I think I'm not the only one.

Oh, and you did see that...er, um, I'm not even sure, kid? That claimed to be a child of a version of my dad and my Goddad?

Broken brains...heh. I'm pretty used to that by now.

Oh gosh. Roxel. I remember that from when I was younger...but that's probably just because my younger self's around, too. Turns out there's some sick lovechild of Sora and Real Thing, too. And did you see that..."uke"?

Oh, I saw that. Kagami told me to stay away from it. Stay away from sparkling people, actually. Those two are definitely in the same category.

[small frown] Will you really keep calling Uncle Riku "Real Thing"?

Eh, it's just a habit. Riku from back home never seemed to mind, really, and it's not like I mean to insult him.

...it's kind of contradictory. 'Real' and 'Thing'. And calling him by name won't affect you since you have your own name and identity and all.
