Rollin' in the Deep

[Here is a Ri. He's currently sprawled on the floor of a rather large, but sparsely furnished room. He's happily fascinated by a ball of purple fur that's rolling about in front of him, and makes a squeaky purr whenever he pokes it. The purple and pink balls of fur stand out brightly amongst the duller brown balls of fur in the room, but the brown fur balls coo quite pleasantly.

[Here is a Riku. Normally, he wouldn't pay Ri much attention, unless he were in the process of destroying something or something similar, but he pauses by the door to see why the room is carpeted with colorful (noisy) fluff.]

[Ri doesn't even bother to get up off the floor, and just helps roll his purple fluff ball around some more]

[Well, the puffs don't seem too dangerous. He's holding a unopened can of soda in one hand, but he sets it on the floor when he kneels to examine the puffballs, picking up one of the brown ones.]

Very fluffy. What are they?

[the Tribble just coos in response to being picked up]

I dunno. I just found them here. Not every day you see puffballs laying around.

[Okay, even he admits that it's kind of adorable. He sits down properly, crossing his legs and reaching for one of the pink ones. Does it do the same thing?]

No, but it seems a bit weird for the place to just...fill up a room of them.

[Ri gives Nami a friendly smile, and a pink ball of fur immediately rolls towards her and bumps into her feet]

[Ri rolls over onto his back, and just gives a dopey smile when the purple ball of fur butts against the side of his head]

Riku-pi! You should, you know, hang out with me.

[She's wandering closer against her better judgment to investigate.]

I dunno. But they're cute! Look!

[Ri will hold up his Puff to show it off; other Puffs roll cutely towards Riku's feet the cooing from the Tribbles has a tranquilizing effect did you know?]

[That's definitely a thing. She sinks down to sit, picking one of them up curiously.]

They're not Dream Eaters...

[He was just looking to investigate the strange animal smell he didn't recognise, honest, but now he has an excuse to be obnoxious. He'll stay by the door though.]

I sincerely hope those aren't what they look like they are.

[He lies, he most definitely hopes they are because geek nostalgia and if they reach plague levels it's going to be someone else's problem, ideally Ri's.]

[Ri will give Even a glare, but is rather tranquilized at the moment from being surrounded by Tribbles]

You're not allowed to eat them.

[Guess what? The Puffs seems to realize Even is a Not Desirable to be around -- go lower animal instincts -- and are starting to roll away from him]

I don't imagine tribbles taste pleasant at all.

[At most he just really wants to chase them because small moving furry things. If his tail wasn't strapped down it'd be far, far too obvious just how much he wants to pounce on something.]

[He looks as though he's considering turning right back around when he catches sight of Ri like that. Riku was on his way to find some things for the house, but the strange cooing noises had him tentatively coming to investigate. Riku was ready for a potential fight (or to just get the hell out of there), but this is so far from what he was expecting to see that he's stumped.]

[Ri looks up from his spot on the floor, and gives Riku a friendly wave before going back to poking at his purple Puff]

[They don't look particularly dangerous, but then, one could say neither does Ri until he wants to be.]

I dunno, but they're super cute!

[would Riku like a curious lilac Puff to roll towards him?]

[His first instinct is to back up, so it doesn't get too close to his feet. It's hard to tell if these things have teeth, or even what end they'd be on.]
