[ At this point holiday parties are to be expected, just as much as spells and mistletoe. Four years of routine and tradition aren't often broken, especially by the DR, and the annual Christmas Eve party is here. There's not a big ballroom this year, or a large snowy landscape. Just a large room, decorated with soft couches and sofas, a large, warming fireplace with stockings hung up, and an enormous fresh Christmas tree, decorated in red and green and silver. It's nothing huge, but there are candles on shelves and the table, wreathes on the doors, and two other doors. One is a sliding glass door on the opposite end that leads to a pier over the water, lined with icicle lights, and the other leads to a snowy outdoor area filled with mysteriously docile and friendly reindeer. Who knows? Maybe some of them can even fly.

There are probably a few people who only come for the food, and they won't be disappointed. There are two tables lined with party foods. Sweets, cheeses, sausage and mini sandwiches. No matter how much is taken they never seem to run out, and there's a smaller round table of drinks, including punch and eggnog.

Formal wear seems to be a given, even with the comfortable atmosphere, and anyone who didn't at least try to dress semi-formal will find themselves in something more festive. ]

[That's fine, she's doing the same thing. It's nauseating, isn't it? As for Riku? She looks happy. A little nervous, maybe, but mostly happy.]

What?

[He shakes his head and leans in for a kiss. He doesn't really have an answer to why he's staring. At least, not one that doesn't sound dumb and sappy, which he is definitely not admitting to.]

[Who cares if he's dumb and sappy? She already has been like three times in the past hour. But if silence gets her kisses then she doesn't really mind if he doesn't want to talk. She just puts her hands on his face and returns it.]

[His hands start to move over her lightly, not really going for sensual or anything, just touching, feeling her there, exploring like he's expecting to find something new now that they've gone and declared their love.]

[She won't stop him. She might make it more difficult, moving closer, pressing herself against him, but she won't stop him. The logical part of Riku knows that they've been having sex regularly for over two years, they've been friends for double that, and even if she doesn't know how long he's had feelings for her, hers have been going on for so long that it doesn't really change anything now that they've admitted it and know how they feel. They're not the type of people that something like this would change. But despite knowing that, she's almost nervous now that the initial delirious happiness has calmed. What's supposed to happen next? She pulls away from him enough to talk, eyes on his face.]

What happens now?

Hell if I know, I'm kind of new to this sort of thing.

[Emotions? Relationships??? Complete mysteries to him. A part of him is nervous he'll find a way to mess this up before they've even really gotten off the ground. The rest of him is pretty sure that's fucking moronic, considering the shit they've already been through as friends and friends with benefits, but he just can't help it. He takes a moment to shift and press his face against her hair.]

Probably go on like normal, I guess. Except with more PDA.

[She snorts very obviously, amused, but affectionate. The very idea.]

PDA never struck me as your thing, but I guess I can deal with that.

[Obviously she's just teasing. She doesn't expect they'll be making out in public in the fashion of love-struck teenagers. Close, but not quite. She moves her hand to take his, eyes closed.]

So does that make us... what? What are we now?

Alright, less bothering to give a fuck over people seeing us kiss, then. Better?

[He hums against her hair at the question, wondering that himself. They've gone into this... well, not backwards, really, but certainly sideways or something.]

No clue.

That is better, actually.

[She turns her head to kiss... whatever part of him is closest. His cheek, his neck, something. She starts to say something after that and stops short, hesitating, just breathing against him.]

Would you want to say we're dating? I don't know if that sounds right.

[It's a weird word, when it's the two of them. They're not courting, they won't be doing any "dates" different from what they have been. It feels like something else.]

[That makes him huff out a laugh and shake his head a little. 'Dating' doesn't really seem like something that happens properly in the DR at all.]

I don't think there's a word for what we are.

[Exactly. Ri would probably be thrilled if they went on "classic" types of dates, but... fuck that, they already go out to eat and watch movies and stuff, what are they going to do? It's enough to make Riku laugh, too.]

I didn't think so. Whatever, it's not like we need one.

Exactly.

[Red moves to press a grinning kiss to her mouth.]

So, you know, I'm back to normal, we've got all that sappy bullshit out of the way...

Yeah, guess I should go.

[Except she's grinning, too, blatantly teasingly, and even though she sits up like she's going to go she's just pulling her shoes off.]

[God, he's tempted to shove her off the bed, but all he does is roll his eyes and sit up as well.]

Well fine, if that's what you want. I mean, I was thinking more along the lines of seeing how many orgasms I can get out of you before you're begging me to stop as celebration for my return and all that, but it's up to you, obviously.

[He's getting a look from the corner of her eyes as she very pointedly drops one shoe on the floor, and then the other, before leaning down to kiss him.]

Shut up.

[He chuckles against her mouth, nipping at her lip when she talks.]

I think you're going to need to make me.

Lucky me, I have some experience there.

[So snarky. A little thing like love confessions is nothing to their relationship. Now, in continuing being unbearably sexy, Riku's going to curl her arms around his neck and ~~pounce~~ push him back onto the bed.]

You sure you haven't gotten rusty? It's been a while...

[He trails off with a grin, letting her take the lead for the moment. He is definitely going to have her legs over his shoulders at some point, but that's a little ways away yet.]

That just means I need more practice.

[Win/win situation? I think so. Both for Riku's 'experience' and wherever her legs end up. He's getting climbed on.]

Suppose so.

[Well hello there, pretty lady. He's not going to make it difficult for her, but he doesn't exactly seem to be trying to help things along either.]

[Prick. Good thing Riku is actually too happy to get honestly annoyed. Well, not that it'd matter. It would just make her more determined if she was annoyed. Apparently she's done talking, because once she's got her legs on either side of his waist she's kissing him again, fingertips sneaking up under his shirt.]

[He returns that kiss readily, resting his hands on her hips. He's nearly forgotten (nearly) the hideous Christmas sweater he got stuck in for the night! It's quite the contrast to Riku's dress, but soon enough clothing isn't going to matter at all.]

[Clothing doesn't matter at all now if you ask Riku. Her hands have slid up under them completely in no time, and she's considering whether or not the DR would allow her to burn or rip it off. It's been nice so far, should she push her luck? Either way, it's coming off now, and she'll only break the kiss long enough to do that. If he won't cooperate enough for that she will try to rip it.]

[Oh, don't worry, he'll cooperate for that part. He wants his old jacket back, thank you very much. Though not right now, of course; less clothes is better now.]

[Goodbye, terrible Christmas sweater. You served us well. Sort of. As soon as it's on the floor he's getting fiercely kissed again, Riku leaning down far enough that she can press her chest against his.]
