[ The rafters have always been a decent place to chill and watch people, or throw things at people, or nap. Many a DR resident have done those things and more, and brand new ones are no exception. It looks like there's an Axel up there, surprisingly not snoozing the day away. Hell, it looks like she's sucking on a Slurpee. There's a bruise forming on her face and a small scorched area in the floor from when she, asleep, fell out of the rafters about twenty minutes before. ]

[So long as she doesn't start getting followed by them she'll be good. Also Riku is totally around the next corner.]

Exactly. Best explanation for anything, in my opinion.

[here they go around the corner then, and he hauls up short when he spots Riku. now, Riku knows him pretty well at this point, so she should totally know that Axel doesn't happen across people by accident, and therefore he absolutely brought Lea to her once they were in the area and he could tell that Riku was out and about. so his look of innocence and surprise is total bullshit, is what i'm saying.]

[She could sense Axel nearby, but she didn't know he was that close, and she hadn't sensed Lea any more than she can sense any person in the DR, so when she glances up from scritching behind Serein's ears she looks thoroughly shocked. Her eyes dart from Lea, to Axel, to Lea again, to Axel to give him a look, and then they settle on Lea.]

[Lea looks similarly surprised, but for different reasons, and breaks away from Axel to approach Riku immediately.]

[now that Lea's ahead of him, he's grinning happily and bouncing a little in place. it'll probably be better that he's here, hopefully they'll both behave in the presence of another person.]

Sorry, Riku, I only meant to show her the general area you frequented, so she'd know where she might be able to find you.

When did you--

[She's interrupted when Lea plants a hand flat on her head, and cuts herself off to stare at her. Lea keeps it level and slides it back to her own skull, expression neutral.]

Congratulations on finally kicking puberty's ass.

[Riku's look of utter exasperation is cut off when she finds an arm around her neck and is suddenly scooped into a hug.]

Oh right, she was only like fifteen or sixteen when she came back. In appearance, anyway. C'mere Serein, I'll keep rubbing your ears, since Riku's busy.

[doooooooooog come here dog. Axel is unrepentantly gleeful now, and sits down on the floor to play with her while Lea accosts Riku. something totally needs to come up in conversation at some point about Kai, or Axel and Kai, or the fact that Axel's a dweeb with a hyena demon in his brain. /uh]

Axel--

[Nope. Lea is too pleased and full of mischief as a result of seeing her, she's not escaping this hug. After a few seconds of futile struggling she gives up and hugs her back. Serein gives Lea some interested sniffings and then makes her way over to Axel, because that's guaranteed pettings.]

And that makes her how old now?

[lol she totally hasn't let go.]

Almost twenty-one, if I'm not mistaken.

[hidog who's a good dog you're a good dog and a pretty dog also. Axel likes knowing someone with a dog, he can't really roll around on the floor like this with Kai, and Apricot doesn't reciprocate with sloppy kisses and stuff like Serein does.]

[She finally manages to get loose and smooths out her hair. Lea crosses her arms, just grinning now. She feels better about being stuck in this place with someone she knows here. Serein is a traitor, in Riku's opinion, and totally mauling Axel with love and affection and slobber.]

You're my friend, why wouldn't I remember?

[doooooog. he's slobbering on Serein with love and affection also. have you ever seen an Axel behave this way, Lea?]

[Riku makes a noise that sounds decidedly like "hmph" and crosses her arms, looking at Lea with some amusement. She's not unhappy to see her so now at least Axel gets to see first-hand just how much her judgment with Axels and otherwise similar people/names has changed. Also no, Lea has not. But then, she's never seen another Axel than herself.]

How long were you leading her around?

Not too long. We stood around and talked about you, and how shitty it is that the only other people she would really know around here are Larxene and Xigbar, but then we headed over here.

[she'd know Kai and Nami, obviously, but they're in a class by themselves, which is why he still hasn't mentioned them. they were the first versions he ever knew, so they're not even lumped into the group of "people from the genderswapped version of things". Riku's only lumped in there very rarely, and came up more readily because of how recently she'd been talking about Lea. it's hard to explain. but he definitely knows that Riku has a thing about being thought of as "the girl Riku", and he doesn't think of her that way, and hopefully she knows it. /ramble]

[She really would appreciate knowing he makes a conscious effort not to present her that way, and she would also appreciate just knowing he doesn't think of her that way. She doesn't mind being referred to as that sometimes, but... she's not just a secondary Riku, which is how some people see her. But yeah that trips Riku up, and she's looking at Axel with plain confusion now.]

You mean besides me? She'll know Nami. Kai, too. Wait, why were you talking about me?

[Hey guess what, Lea's now looking at him with raised eyebrows.]

Forget to mention the boys?

Oh. Yeah, I guess I did. I knew them before I knew any girl versions of them, so they aren't even in the same category, really. And we were talking about you because you were talking about things including Lea after you came back.

[dog plz get your tongue out of my ear, you are not my husband.]

Oh.

[She looks much less suspicious now. Serein says no, and shoves her nose in Axel's hair.]

Girl versions.

[says Lea, giving Riku a significant look. She just shakes her head and says something that sounds vaguely like "long story", but she's covering her face with her hand so it's a little muffled.]

So that makes, what, six, seven people from our version?

Guess so– dog, please, at least get me dinner first. What would Apricot think?

[why is it a long story, we've covered the opposite genders thing already. :U ]

Axel, catch.

[She's tossing him a small bag. It's full of dog treats. Go on, spoil her rotten and get her off of you. Also Riku doesn't know what he's explained, but she knows that the vast majority of them are male. Lea just looks confused, but now Riku looks suspicious again.]

Why didn't you bring up Kai?

I told you, I didn't even think of it. I was trying to remember who all from the set of worlds that has everyone opposite genders from the majority of the others was here. It's like... Kai and Nami are Kai and Nami, you're you and I thought of you because of the talk we had when you came back, and otherwise I was thinking of the Larxene who's a guy, and the Xigbar who's a girl. There might be a lady Vexen around too, come to think of it.

[he's getting a handful of treats and holding them out to Serein without even getting up off the ground. y so suspicious, Riku.]

[...because.]

You had time to tell her about Larxene and Xigbar being here, but you neglected to mention Kai.

[You neglected to mention your boyfriend, is what Riku's saying, and Axel should get that. But before she can elaborate and expose him to Lea--]

[Lea's got an arm around her neck again and appears to be using Riku as an armrest, despite the little difference in height.]
