[Well, this is a little alarming.
How often do you even see Xemnas wandering down the halls? Clearly, not often enough.
This particular Xemnas seems largely unphased by his surroundings. Sure, he stops to examine the occasional room, but otherwise he barely bats an eye.
Not until, at last, he finds a door leading into a cold, desolate chamber. A suit of armor rests there, familiar to some. Seems he's found the Chamber of Repose room.
A cold, dry chuckle escapes him.]
Truly fascinating... And yet, I grow tired of this charade.
[ooc: Note-- AU Xemnas from
keybearer's universe. All you need to know for now is that things aren't quite as they appear.]

He also seems to be muttering to himself.] -- this a new trick from the admins? It's too accurate--
[The voice doesn't match up with a Xemnas double, though. But details; he now seems to have looked at what's in front of him. Stopping. Staring from under that hood of his.
... ... what is his life. Really.] ... definitely a new trick from the admins.

Xemnas doesn't move. Not yet. He continues to gaze into the Chamber, though, rest assured, he knows Terra is coming. It's hard to dismiss the sound of footsteps and that oh-so-familiar muttering. And when he finally speaks up... ha.]
I assure you, this is no mere trick.
no subject
[A pause, and he's tilting his head. He'll continue to stare, if only because it beats looking at the all-too-familiar armor behind you.
He's not used to seeing Stormfall there, though. That's... different.] How long have you been here?
[It can't have been very long... and new arrivals usually showed up at the beginning of the week, so the timing is right.]
no subject
[He shakes his head.]
Though, long enough to note this world's peculiar properties. Have you not seen the duplicates wandering these halls?
[That alone should explain his existence, really.]
no subject
... well, damn. He was aware that there could be duplicates in the tower, but what he saw out of his peripheral vision was far more than the limit of two that the admins seemed to have.
... so he's out of the tower? How? He hardly noticed the transition between this new world and the place he had been forced to call 'home' for the past couple of months. Almost sheepishly, admitting:] I'm a little used to doubles, but not in these numbers.
[... shaking his head, and figuring that if he's going to talk to himself (literally), then the other 'him' should at least see him.
Unfortunately, he knows he'll lose the masking ability of the coat the second he lowers his hood, but... really. What's going to attack him here?] What's the last thing you remember before showing up here?
[Might as well get timelines straightened out. Better to know where they each stand.]
no subject
[After all, the only 'double' he's experienced was the Replica, and he's a special case...
Though, for a moment, it's almost as if Xemnas falters. Or perhaps Terra was simply seeing things. This is...
Hah. Well then. If he truly had a heart, perhaps he would be surprised.
Instead, he gives Terra quick once-over and then...]
It is of little importance.
[Surely he didn't expect Xemnas to reveal something so personal. After all, he doesn't know what to expect from this duplicate. Revealing too much could work against him.]
Furthermore, since you asked, perhaps you should be the one to explain.
no subject
[His eyes narrow, catching the not-quite-reaction. He remembers how subtle Xemnas could be, even if he no longer could manage it for long.
'I surprised him. Somehow.'] If you think so.
[... well. He has a point. Shrugging again, and deciding to choose his words carefully.] If this world is anything like my previous location, then it messes with time as well as location. Those that arrive from your universe can show up from any point in their personal timeline, and universe alternates don't always match up. In some cases, the chain of events can proceed in a vastly different way than what you would know.
[Case in point, the two of them.] In most cases, the major events stay in relatively the same order, and can be a relatively accurate gauge for what someone has or hasn't gone through and what has changed.
[Stopping. Watching. Waiting for a reaction.]
no subject
Fascinating. Very fascinating.]
You say that as if the simplest change is inconsequential. Yet, I find that difficult to believe. A slight change in one's fate could very well act as a catalyst. A single spark can create wildfire.
Though this is purely theoretical. Perhaps fate is immovable. Unchangeable.
[For him, that isn't good enough.]
So I raise one simple question. Who wields the Keyblade?
no subject
But some things fight change harder than others, refusing to change when the ripples hit.
[Like stones in a river; fixed points, if you will. ... well, that gets a laugh out of him.] A better question would be who doesn't.
[But he knows what you're really getting at. Who's the hero? Who is the active force against Organization XIII?] ... A kid from Destiny Islands. Almost the spitting image of Ven.
[Almost. The rat's nest of brown spikes that Sora calls 'hair' is worse than Ven's ever could be.]
no subject
[Heh, heh... Now there's a thought.]
The boy is hardly worthy, particularly since he's lost his heart. Those drenched in darkness cannot hope to protect the light.
[...]
Surely you know from experience.

The fact that his Heartless form is far more advanced proves that much. After all, the Sora he'd last encountered still bore the inky black body so typical of purebloods.
However, he doesn't look particularly phased by Sora's presence.]
There is little cause for alarm.
no subject
...So I'm not in trouble?
[Though he's not sure what to think of Xemnas. He smells... Vaguely like his adoptive father, but very different at the same time. Almost like stale earth.]
no subject
[And curiosity is a powerful, if destructive emotion.]
After all, this room has its alluring qualities. It is only natural that you would be drawn here.
no subject
[He's still not sure what to think about you, Xemnas. You intimidate him.]
no subject
[Good. Intimidation has its uses.]
no subject
[He's not sure he should be asking Xemnas. Though he's seeming slightly less timid, hopping down and fully into sight.]
no subject
[He places his hands behind his back.]
Though its true meaning would be lost to you.
no subject
As he does, he stops, taking the scene in.]
...oh!...
[Okay. He's been told not to talk to black coats. But a black coat him? Now that's interesting... and he steps in further to look at everything here.]
no subject
Xemnas folds his hands behind his back and turns to face the boy.]
Intriguing, isn't it?
no subject
Mm.
[Feeling something else is needed-]
It... feels kind of strange here, too? Um... do you know what it is?
no subject
[smarmy redhead leans against the wall (or door frame if you went inside, idk) as he eyes you]
no subject
I care not whether they tire of my presence. It means little to me.
no subject
[YEEEEEEEEEEAHHHHHH!]
no subject
[Sorry, bro. He doesn't look particularly amused here.]
no subject
[That's okay he's not good at being amusing.]
