[ Somewhere in the DR (right outside her door) there is a Riku, pacing back and forth, like an expectant father. Honestly, that's not far off the mark. Nestled in the closet in her bedroom there is a very, very pregnant husky in the process of birth. Someone bring her coffee. ]

[ooc: super backdated, like by a week, but puppies!! Mostly for Kai and Axel, but anyone who wants to see puppies and/or live birth and be ushered away by Riku is welcome--]

Morbid interest, I guess. How many do you think she's gonna have?

[do you want a bun, Riku. would that help distract you.]

I have no idea.

[maybe Axel should try sensing how many are in there, or something!]

[Well, there's Riku's input. After all, after only one puppy Serein's still looking pretty big. Also a bun would be welcome.]

[well. here, Apricot's getting handed off to Riku because she looks like she needs it, and then Axel slides off the bed to kneel on the floor a couple of feet away from Serein. his eyes are closed, and he's quiet for a minute while he settles into the right mindset for sensing that sort of thing. feel free to ask what the eff he's doing!]

[Kai watches Axel curiously, absently reaching to give the bun a scritch or two while he's at it.]

[Ohi Apricot. Riku looks a little surprised, but tries to keep him settled down in her lap, leaning back on one warm. She does not mind bun. But Axel's who has her attention. She glances back at Kai, then Axel again.]

Axel?

[he cocks his head like he's listening to something, staying silent for another moment.]

...I think it's... at least five, maybe six or more, it's hard to tell from here. Not counting the one that's already out, obviously.

...your apartment is going to get really noisy, and really messy, Riku.

[he only sounds slightly sympathetic. mostly he just seems to think it's funny, wow how rude.]

Did you say five or six?

[Very rude! Riku's expression is akin to terror. How is she going to handle six, seven noisy, tiny puppies?]

I think that's pretty normal for dogs, and cats. We can probably take over for you when you want, if you need the peace and quiet.

[he's still just waiting for some with bunny features to appear. but no, he and/or Kai could totally come here and stay the night and Riku could go to their house to get some sleep. or something.]

[or go to Red's. Kai's nodding along, in any case.]

Yeah, you won't have to put up with them all the time if you don't want to.

[Implying she'll get any sleep if she goes to Red's.]

It's normal, I just wasn't sure if she'd have that many on her first litter.

[Jeez. She's going to keep Apricot back with one hand and lean forward to give Serein what she hopes is reassuring pettings. Serein seems happy for them!]

You are planning on taking at least one permanently, right?

Yeah! If there's one with bunny ears or something I definitely want that one.

[he is totally for realz srs. also that's right, I forgot Red gives people nightmares, so all they can really do in a bed together is have hot sex. that sucks a lot.]

I wonder if our older selves would be interested in one. I know the younger me would be, but it'd be up to him if he thought he could handle taking care of a puppy.

Nami might want one. I'm sure he could do with a companion that doesn't speak.

[if there's a runt Nami should get it imo.]

Works for me. But I really don't think any of them will have bunny ears.

[Shows what you know, Riku. Also, Axel should not bring that up to her, because it actually something that makes Riku kind of sad.]

[he totally won't, why would he ever. D: he's totally lacking tact most of the time, but not about things like that, not when it's something really serious.]

Shh, let me have my dreams. I bet Nami'd like one, though, you're right.

I just hope he doesn't feel too pressured to take one. We'd want him to have one because he actually wants it, after all.

[No I didn't think he would I was just saying. Riku snorts a bit, finally pulling away from Serein to lean back and give Apricot attention. She wants to pick up the puppyyy.]

Let me ask?

Yeah, of course. Although if it's you, he might feel pressured anyway because it's you.

[wink wonk, do you know what i mean. Axel needs something to cuddle to, so he gets up and climbs back on the bed to sit behind Kai, arms around his waist.]

Nah, I think Nami could say no to Riku if he really didn't want one.

[he leans back against Axel, smiling and trying not to look too excited about more puppies incoming.]

I don't see why he couldn't.

[Axel is getting a suspicious look, and then Riku turns her attention to Apricot. How's papa bunny holding up?]

[Riku's getting side-eyed, because is she really that oblivious to Nami's crush on her, but then it's time to snorgle Kai's shoulder. seriously where are the rest of the puppieeeeeeeeeeeeees.]

[to be fair, Nami's crush has waned quite a bit! Kai makes a faint noise that is probably a laugh at Axel's snorgling and twists to try and smooch him.

papa bunny is probably a little anxious about all this weirdness going on, but seems content (for now) to just chill instead of trying to get close to Serein yet.]

[Exact-- wait what, what do you mean by waned? Riku thought it was gone completely from when she last heard mention of it. And she wasn't aware of it until someone mentioned it to her. You should know she's not the most observant when it comes to that, Axel!

Serein has calmed down a lot, her focus primarily on her newborn puppy. After a moment she does flop over to breath, but she's not getting comfortable yet.]

[gosh. but yey, smooches. he sits up a little straighter when Serein shifts, arms tightening reflexively around Kai. is another puppy coming?]
