[ Somewhere in the DR (right outside her door) there is a Riku, pacing back and forth, like an expectant father. Honestly, that's not far off the mark. Nestled in the closet in her bedroom there is a very, very pregnant husky in the process of birth. Someone bring her coffee. ]

[ooc: super backdated, like by a week, but puppies!! Mostly for Kai and Axel, but anyone who wants to see puppies and/or live birth and be ushered away by Riku is welcome--]

[Kai is on his way!! as fast as he can, and with Apricot in the little side bag he brought with him (just in case). it's not long before he gets there, and he tries not to look too amused by Riku's pacing.]

[He is not not amused enough. Riku sees it and gives him a mild scowl.]

Can you stay and watch her? I need to go loot a coffee pot.

[brb bouncing past Kai and Riku and into the apartment. speaking of coffee. I mean what.]

Go on, we'll be fine. Do you have towels somewhere? Preferably ones that you don't care about?

Of course we'll stay and watch her, Riku.

[he rolls his eyes with an amused smile over Axel's bounciness, but follows to the doorway.]

[She makes a face at both of them and starts off.]

She's been in labor for hours, Axel. There are towels already piled up.

[nope, he's gone already, to see if he can use some mild heat to soothe any pains from labor. he actually did some reading about this too! hidog, hopefully this won't last too long. :( ]

[he shakes his head, then lets Apricot down so the bun can head inside.]

Go get your coffee. I'll call if anything happens while you're gone.

Thanks. Tell him to be careful. She's not feeling up to being touched right now.

[Riku's been giving her space until she wanted to interact with her, for the most part. Also she meant Axel, but hell, Apricot works too.]

[he's being gentle and respectful, at least, but doing what he can to help. he'll be sitting cross-legged outside the closet door when Kai comes in, just keeping an eye on Serein.]

I will, don't worry.

[Apricot knows better than to go near a birthing mommy without permission. probably instinct or something. Kai just makes his way in to settle near the closet, though farther away than Axel is for sure.]

Did you hear that, Axel?

Mmhm, I'll leave her alone. How far along do you think she is?

[he knows how to handle it, basically, and not pass out at the sight of newborns like he did when Slaveku gave birth, but he's bad at telling things like timing. :( ]

I'm not sure, honestly.

[Apricot cautiously peeks into the closet!! because oh goodness does he ever want to see babies.]

[Axel sets his hand on Apricot's back, but doesn't do anything more to keep him from being nosy. animals tend to work things out between each other pretty well.]

I hope it doesn't last too long, for her sake.

[look who's here? and she's carrying a big bag o' stuff]

[she's got water and dog treats and towels and a thermos of coffee and one of soup]

[She actually has most of those set up, minus the coffee and soup.]

It's not dramatic at all! You're gonna be a grandma!

[Riku drags both hands down her face.]

Sure, why not. Come on, you should look at her.

Alright. Has she tried to bite you already? Where'd she build her nest?

My closet. And no, I've been trying to give her space.

[She will lead her to her poor pregnant dog.]

Huh. Well, I did warn you that she might pick that place for it.

Yeah, I remember. Come on, I want you to look at her.

Of course. Is there anything wrong that you noticed?

Not that I noticed, no. Everything seems normal according to the books I read.

[Shrug. She has no idea what she's doing, though.]
