[ It looks like a costume shop's opened up in the DR, by the look of this new hallway and the room it leads to. Wigs, rubber fangs, acrylic fangs, claws and animal ears, tails, paws, and full-body suits. Horns, wings, and halos. There are uniforms and spooky cloaks, fake body parts, packages of makeup, and masks. So very many masks. Ranging from cartoonishly deformed, to unsettlingly realistic.

But perhaps most unsettling is the entire far wall, dedicated to costumes and masks and wigs designed to resemble the Dressing Room residents. This could lead to some very unfortunate outcomes. Did we mention that each item becomes real when tried on? Have fun removing those fangs. ]

[ ooc: Open post / threadhop event post. Have fun. o/ The costume pieces come off when covered by another costume, when destroyed, or when the character leaves the hall. Unless you want to keep them. ]

[The difference here is that she did that while he was dead, and his came back. She doesn't plan on dying. Not in here. He should say that out loud. She'd point out how that human smeared him across the pavement. For now she's backing away from that direction and rising up higher in the room, eying every possible hiding place in case he decides to jump out.]

This is great. I can't wait to tell Kai how you were hiding like we were back in the brooding caverns.

[said human was actually a superhuman vampire at the time, it doesn't count. he's not taking the bait, much as he'd like to, instead staying right where he is. there's no shame in lying in wait, thank you very much. plenty of predators do it. plenty of trolls do it, in battle.]

[It so counts. She's still hovering, but lowers herself so she might as well be sitting on another shelf, blade resting across one knee. She looks relaxed -- in fact, she looks downright bored. But he should know that she's still well prepared to fight. She looks bored.]

Performance anxiety?

[nope. he's got his eyes closed by now, to better pinpoint where sounds are coming from, and thinks he's determined not only where she's settled but approximately which way she's facing. time to flatten his hands against the floor and start slowly pushing himself back through his hiding space, only the most minute of noises coming from his movement. they sound super amplified to him from tension and the enclosed space, but they may not even be audible to her where she is.]

[She can't hear a thing. Her sense of hearing is only as good as the average troll's, and she stays where she is for the time being. If he takes too long, though, he'll hear her feet hit the ground.]

[he freezes again when he hears that, and then effectively hustles, shimmying backwards out from under the shelving unit and only going as far as a crouch before stilling again. he's not sure if he'll be able to sneak up on her in this room, but if he can at least evade her until he gets around to the door, then he'll be fine. the alternative is stepping out into the open and letting her maul him to death, which would be fine too.]

You're such a pain.

[He's lucky her Time abilities disappeared when she came to the DR, or else she'd just go back in time and get the jump on him. Maybe they should come back some time.

But then he'd have two kismesises to deal with.]

[....that'd be okay. =3= time to peek around the edge of this other shelf and see if he can spot her. he won't be able to climb and attack from above, but hopefully if there's a chance to attack her, it'll be from close enough that he can surprise her.]

[Yeah, he would say that. She's on her feet, and walking toward the exit, wings mostly still. She still has her sword in hand.]

[oh hell no, he's not falling for that shit. it's an obvious trap; she wants him to try and sneak up on her since her back is turned. nope nope nope. he's staying right where he is, but he is getting his weapons back in his hands.]

[Nooksucker. She's still walking, but slowly, because she's waiting for anything. A sound, an attack, anything. If nothing happens by the time she's reached the door, she'll stop.]

[as she stops, there's a carefully timed clatter of costume pieces falling off a shelf, about halfway between the two of them. Hachibi threw some Groucho Marx novelty glasses at an over-filled hook laden with masks. did he just escape down that aisle? IT IS A MYSTERY.]

[She whips around half-way, her feet staying planted on the ground but her torso and head turning to eye that aisle. She's not falling for it either, Hachibi.]

[how about when her headset beeps with a new message? :D he's shimmied back under the fallen shelves where it's safe, and is now using the computer built into the wide leather cuff on his wrist, screen and keyboard alike projected from it in small scale in front of him.]

MS: So, are you doing anything later?

[Then she stops, turning her full body half-way and reaching up to switch the blinder on over her eyes. Oh, you prick.]

CW: Sorry, I'm expecting a busy day ahead

MS: I can't imagine with what, that moirail of yours isn't exactly the most exciting thing around.
MS: Besides, the bloodstains on my couch are getting dull, we need to brighten them up again.

[teehee. this is so stupid and juvenile and he doesn't even care, it's just another way to piss her off and maybe even one-up her, and maybe get some bloodshed and hot bulge-on-bulge action.]

CW: Didn't realize you were that eager to bleed

[So far she's not pissed, just amused. She's also walking back into the room, but at a slow pace. She's not deliberately seeking him out. Yet.]

MS: What can I say, you just bring out all my best features.
MS: I mean, we could do it here, but it doesn't seem like it'd be very comfortable.

CW: I'm not interested in your current face
CW: Do you have human teeth now?

[Ohohoho.]

MS: Nope, it just stuck to the surface of my face. My teeth are all present and accounted for, just the way you like them.

[actually on that note, he's going to attempt to peel the mask off, even if it means digging his claws into his skin. how likely do you think it would be that he'd manage it?]

CW: Then why are you still hiding?

[It should come off just fine if he's willing to tear into his 'face' to get it off. They disconnect when destroyed, after all.]

MS: Because I like laying on my back on a cold floor under collapsed furniture.
MS: Hang on a second.

[he shuts the computer off and hesitates for a second before digging his claws in on both sides of his face and pulling. Riku'll hear a thump against metal and a muffled grunt of pain that might be hard to pinpoint.]

[She frowns, waiting in complete silence to see if that noise is followed by anything else. Sound, movement, anything.]

[he's swearing quietly into his arm, but she probably can't even hear it, and then he's wiggling back out from under the shelves and winging the mask in her direction. he goes still with his back pressed against metal, and turns his computer back on.]

MS: How're your horns?
MS: I thought I heard a cracking noise when the shelves fell.

[She waits quite some time before responding, using the wings to float silently over the few feet of space between her and where the mask landed. She drops to her feet after, using her toes to kick the mask up so she can catch it. She sweeps a few fingers from that same hand up over her horns, feeling for cracks for the second time.]

CW: Fine
CW: No trophies for you this time

[This would be a good time to mention that she's walking in the direction she thinks the mask was tossed from.]
