Kingdom Hearts, give me my... brainssssssssssss?

[Anyone in the downtown area, or who's particularly sensitive, will have just seen/heard/felt a huge blast of magic and Light coming from an alleyway. Kira is flinging out spells as fast as she can, but she's run out of ethers (damn her outfit for not having big pockets) and now has resorted to trying to keep up a Barrier as she tries to get out into a clear space so she can make a run for it. What's she running from?

Heartless.

Except that there seems to be two different groups of Heartless in this area, each fighting the other or going after people that they come across. Particularly horrifying is how some Heartless release their captured Hearts but don't fade into Darkness, instead turning on the 'normal' Heartless like the others. Yes, DR. There are zombie-Heartless on the loose. And Kira still doesn't know if they can infect people yet. You're welcome.]

[that is certainly very surprising but Kira won't question it as she bolts for safety and her Barrier comes crashing down]

[time to gun down some Heartless zombies as they're running! it seems like the gun isn't running out of ammo, oddly enough. ~~unlimited submachine gun woo~~]

[well Kira is out of the fray at least, and is trying to catch her breath and not just pass out from draining her magic]

[Sora will only linger long enough to make sure they won't be immediately followed, then the gun is being put away so she can pick Kira up. they really shouldn't linger. hopefully Kira won't mind being picked up- it might be a little awkward with Sora's shortness, but she's definitely strong enough for it.]

[you're not exactly prince charming or a handsome knight but Kira doesn't mind being rescued right now]

[oh god where is 'up' around here. they could go to an apartment roof, but the apartments themselves have stairs... either way, she's running.]

[there are fire escapes and such, Kira is just struggling to catch her breath]

So we'd probably be safe in an apartment building?

[good. she wants to go somewhere with the red circles, and nowhere is better than her own apartment for that. it'd suck escaping from the Heartless only to run into Silent Hill monsters.]

Yeah. The normal Heartless don't go there usually. And the zombie ones are dumb and wander off if they don't see you.

Okay. We're going to my apartment.

[she's yet to put Kira down, and will be dashing straight for the building.]

[Kira is a little embarrassed about this being carried thing, but won't complain for the moment; luckily they're moving fast enough that they're losing the zombie-Heartless]

[once they reach the building, Sora will put Kira down and head for the elevator. she's not doing the stairs with Kira tired!]

[once they're both inside the elevator, the doors close before either of them presses a button, the light flickering above them. Sora sucks in a sharp breath as the radio in her pocket begins to emit a faint static. the elevator lurches, creaking and groaning as it begins to move upward, sounding decrepit and rusted despite the fact that the DR would probably never allow it to fall into such a state.]

[Kira is probably going to jump and cling because she's not the best with this sort of thing]

What's going on?! This never happened before!

Just stay close, okay? No matter what's there when the doors open, we'll be safe once we get to my apartment.

[she's certain there's going to be at least one monster when they reach her floor. she's got her gun out again.]

[Kira looks like she's one second from bursting into tears over all this stress]

[when the doors open on Sora's floor, the hallway is filled with several gruesome-looking dogs. Sora takes a shaky breath and glances to Kira.]

Change of plans. We're going to step outside of the elevator, then you're going to close your eyes and cover your ears until I put a hand on your shoulder, okay? This is going to get messy and... and I don't want you to have to see it.

[has this turned into an escort mission? Kira is going to whimper but try to be brave]

I... I can't fight... don't worry about me.

[good thing it's just dogs. and good thing she has a gun. it means it's easier to protect Kira! hopefully a bunch of zombie dogs with split heads being gunned down won't be too scarring.]

[Kira is going to be covering her eyes and cringing away; she knows they're monsters, but they're really scary and gruesome and she doesn't want to barf]

[luckily, her apartment isn't too far from the elevator, and after four dogs gunned down, Sora will nudge Kira, holding a key out with the hand not holding her gun.]

Unlock the door and get in, I'll be right behind you.

O-okay...

[Kira will make her way to Sora's door, still wary that something else will jump out and attack her today]

[nope, she's got it covered now! Kira will be able to safely make it inside.]
